Peds with relaxed vacc schedule

Thread Starter

Just moved back to GA (Marietta) and trying to get set up with new doctors.  I want a pediatrician who is more relaxed with vaccine schedules (i am not against vaccines, just want to spread the shots out!) It was very hard to find a dr. like this in Rochester, so I'm hoping someone has some insight down here!  Just want a compassionate doctor willing to listen to my concerns and not judge me!

Thanks!

Bumping for input. Anyone have a recommendation to offer?

This forum needs a sticky with this info. LOL.

C&P from another thread where I posted this:

As for pediatricians, Dr. Carol Herrmann in Decatur is good. Here is her site: http://www.rbkdoc.com/

That's the closest I know of Intown. My friends have PeachCare for their kids and use CorrectMed, which they love. However, that practice will only work with alternative vaccine schedules. They do not accept patients who don't vax at all.

I use All About Kids: http://allaboutkidsgeorgia.com/mainsite/ They accept selective, delayed, and no-vax patients.

That's all I've got! Good luck!

I'm using Dr Abrams in Norcross. My son is only 3 weeks old so we've only gone once but I chose him because he is fine with an alternative vax schedule, or none at all. I questioned him about it at length. It'll be a long drive for you from Marietta but my interaction with him and all of his staff was great.  Google Dr Jeffrey Abrams in Norcross.

We use Dr. Bleekrode at Alpharetta Pediatrics (http://alpharettapediatricsonline.com/). She has never given me a hard time about delaying some vax and opting out of others. I don't know how she feels about completely unvaxed, though.

I like both her and Dr. Traxler, but anytime I've seen another doctor at the practice (they kinda rotate through) I haven't really been impressed. One doctor who isn't there anymore really pressured me to give more vaccines, but she ultimately let me do what I wanted. So I highly recommend making sure you get one of those two for your appointments.

One caveat: I like Dr. Bleekrode a lot, but she does encourage CIO for older babies. So definitely not someone to discuss any sleep issues with. Medically, though, I've been happy with her.
