Dr. Lisa Barer

ABC Pediatrics

1920 Black Lake Boulevard Southwest  Olympia, WA 98512

  (360) 534-9222

She is a traditional MD but she is very receptive and welcoming to those who don't vax or are on an S/D schedule.  However you must request her as your doctor, the other one in the practice is not vaccine flexible.

She is our family pediatrician and we are non-vax.

Mid-Valley Pediatrics

Rich Ames, DO

Dana Kosmala, DO

701 N 5th Street, C-1020

Lebanon , Oregon 97355
(541) 451-7820

We have seen both Dr Ames and Dr Kosmala and while they do recommend vaccinations, we did not feel pressured to vaccinate or like we were being treated poorly because of our choice to not vaccinate.

Respectfully, why is this a contest?  It would be more ethical simply to have a list of "MDC friendly doctors" rather than try to use the excuse of a contest to collect date and information, if thats what the goal is.

I have a very supportive ped who was very open to me delaying and selecting my vaxes and went through the process with me.  However, I don't doubt for a minute that she would be very upset if i advertised her name all over a message board that has a strong anti-vax agenda.  A general list of doctor recommendations would be ok, but advertising what these doctors do and don't do for us may not be appreciated.  They are professionals, within a professional community, and I know in my own career, it wouldn't sit well with me.  i.e. if i am a Propane Gas salesperson, I would not like if a customer told the internet about the giant discount I gave them as a favor or because of a good relationship with them.

Might i propose that, as with many nominations for public contests, that the people submitting the names and private experiences of their doctors simple ASK their doctor if its ok that they do so?  Then again, if it was just a list of MDC friendly doctors available for recommendation (leaving out the private details), and not a contest, then no permission is necessary.

This.

Our pediatrician is also very supportive, but he is part of a large group practice, and I think it would be extremely unethical for me to put his name on the internet with any information that could be used against him by his managing partner (who does not share the same perspective), or by the insurance/pharmaceutical industry.

I completely understand and agree with the need to let parents know which providers might be able to work with them, but I don't think this is the right way, not when we know that so many people have an agenda to prevent these providers from allowing parents to delay vaccines.

I don't think this board has a "Strong anti-vax agenda" at all. I disagree with this. I don't see anything wrong in sharing experiences and information about a doctor online. what is unethical about it? They way I see it it's just a bunch of people sharing their experiences - I don't see the problem. If a doctor doesn't want anyone to know that they support parental choice ie vaccination, then they shouldn't see parents that choose not to vaccinate their kids. Just as I'd tell the propane salesman not to give the discounts or do favors if they don't want anyone to know about it.

John Oberholtzer,

Sutter Pediatrics

Davis, CA

(530) 750 5959

At a well child visit, Dr. O will tell you which vaccines the AAP recommends, and ask if you wish to have them done. If you say no, that's it. Zero pressure. If you want to delay certain vaccines, he's great about discussing the risk/benefits of each vaccine and helping you make an informed decision. We did a modified/delayed schedule with his advice and support. I have a number of friends who are no-vax and he's great with them too. He is the best doctor ever. He's also an AP parent with kids that EBFd and co-slept, a wife that is an IBCLC, and they homeschooled all of their kids up to at least middle school.
