My edd is May 3rd. This will be number two for me. My DD is 2.5 and has so much energy! The last three weeks have been rough and I'm looking forward to the second trimester!

I'm a new member of the forum, but I've lurked on and off for years. This is my first pregnancy!

• EDD:  Mid-to-end of May. Probably near the end, because I've heard that if you have a longer-than-average cycle, you'll tend to go past your EDD.
• Your Name:   I go by Gabi (or Gabriela) online.

• State or Country: Romania, currently, though I grew up in Idaho and lived there until I was 21.
• How long it took to you to get your BFP: Haha, this is a surprise baby! We weren't planning on having kids until we moved back to the states in a couple of years, but God obviously has other plans for us. We were tracking my fertility and using a diaphragm and spermicide on my fertile days.
• What number child is this for you: Number one!
• Family: married since January 30 of this year to a Romanian. No pets yet (though we're both cat people), and my MIL lives with us.
• Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): DH and I are both hoping for a girl
• Birth Plans/Preferences: I'm honestly quite concerned about this. I've always wanted to have my kids at home, but I don't know if that will be possible here in Romania. And even if it were, I don't know if it would be possible for us in our particular situation where we are living now. So I very possibly will be giving birth in a Romanian public hospital, which kind of scares me to death. We'll see how it all turns out, and as long as I get a healthy baby out of it, it will all be worth it in the end!

Hi, mamas!  My name is Kara and I'm expecting another little one around May 11th.  I'm 26 years old and this will be our second baby.  Our son is 4 years old and was born at a freestanding (not affiliated with a hospital) birth center with midwives in Fairbanks, Alaska. It was an amazing experience.  He was born under water and in the caul (my water never broke).  We have a bit of a gap between kiddos, and that's due to a deployment, plus I wanted a bit of time "off" after nursing for 3.5 years before getting pregnant again.  My husband came back from Afghanistan in March, but we decided to wait until August to try to conceive.  Lake Effect snow is a big issue up here and can making traveling pretty dangerous, so spring seemed like a good time to have a baby.  We immediately got pregnant and are now looking forward to meeting our new baby in May!

I'm planning a homebirth, though it will be at my midwife's home.  We now live New York, and there are not many midwives close by.  I'd really wanted to birth at my house, but unfortunately that's not an option.  I really like my midwife, though, and am beyond happy I found her.  I'm planning a natural birth, probably in water again.  I'm also going to see Army midwives/OBs, at least for the first half of my pregnancy so they can order the ultrasound at 18-22 weeks.  I'll definitely not be mentioning my homebirth plans to them, though.  I have a feeling they'd be less than supportive...

Hi ladies! I feel so officially official joining a preggo group. Congratulations everyone!

Before I list my info, I must warn you gals that I have never ever attempted forums, groups, etc. before and I will most likely mess something up. My husband had to show me how to reply correctly. So I apologize if someone gets my grocery list as a response :/

The babe: Human baby #1, first attempt and right out of the gates
Family: a boy/man husband with mad culinary skills that my body cannot appreciate at the moment and baby's siblings; 2 terrier super mutts and 2 spoiled cats (a point of worry- any advice on pet training and preparation would be amazing!)
Gender preference/ guesses: every single person that knows seems to think it is a girl. I go back and forth. My husband wants a boy because he can't fathom having a teenage daughter. I just want incredibly healthy.
Birth Plans: We had planned on a birthing center until we actually looked into them in our area. Not only is it slim pickin's, but my insurance won't fully cover so it will cost over double the amount of the hospital. I'm hopeful someone here will have some great advice for us about this.
Anything else you'd like to share: Currently subbing wine with the show Parenthood. Sadly, I'm almost caught up to this season.

Anything else you'd like to share: excited and scared out of my mind all in the same breath. Planning a spiritual homebirth with dear friends who are also midwives- unlike my first time around. I believe in the power of birth and the wisdom within me.

Also have hypothyroidism and hoping to keep it and my weight in check during this journey.
