  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: We weren't planning to conceive, but I ran out of BC and couldn't refill my Rx due to hubby changing companies, so here we are, HAPPILY love.gif

  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): My hubby is Randy. We'll have been married for 7 years the day after our EDD, together for 8 in April. Our son is Christian Kai, he's 6 and VERY excited to be a big brother. And one furbaby, Jawa, named after a speedway motorcycle.
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): WE'RE HAVING A GIRL!!!!! energy.gif
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: I just DO NOT want to be induced like I was with my son. Worst experiance of my life!

  • Anything else you'd like to share: I am a newlywed married to my high school sweetheart and we are both vegan and plan on raising our child vegan if that's what they want!

Hi there! I have been following our Due Date Club postings but I don't believe I ever completed an introduction. 

 

  • Estimated Due Date - May 3rd
  • Your Name - Susan 
  • Age - 30 years old
  • State or Country - Yellowknife, NWT (Canada's subarctic!)
  • How long it took to you to get your positive pregnancy test - My partner and I conceived via oopsy! 
  • What number child is this for you - 1
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies) - L'il family of moi, my partner and one kitty 
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses) - I think Mothering may want to rethink language on this one. We will see what gender our child identifies with. As for the sex of our child, we are not finding out until the big reveal! 
  • Birth Plans/Preferences - Planning for a natural birth, open to whatever we deem necessary when we are in the heat of it all
  • Blog, website or the like - http://offbeatfamilies.com/ 
  • Anything else you'd like to share - I am really excited about the new addition to my life. I am also seeking support in parenting without all the normative/oppressive crap that often overwhelms general pregnancy and parenting dialogue (eg: gendering, heteronormatives, closed-mindness, binaries, sexism, etc). I do find some reprieve here on mothering.com and I continue to seek it out where I can. I am pursuing a new career path, part of a Burlesque group, a passionate activist and have an identity that is big, rich and vast. Mothering is part of that but not all of it.

Welcome Pinky, Alysee and Susan!  Susan, I think there are a couple other burlesque mamas in this DDC (can't remember who at the moment).  You'll have to try and connect!
