I saw my midwife today. I am 37+3. Baby is breech again. I am fine UCing a vertex baby but only with midwife shadow care. I am not ok with breech.

I am measuring 39 weeks, which meshes with thought that I'm actually due 9/6 based on conception. I think that makes me 38+6... Ultrasound gives me 37+3 and a 9/15 due date.

I am facing a c-section on Tuesday 9/4 if baby is breech still. I am going to do everything I can to get her to turn before then.. And once I get her vertex I plan on trying self induction methods. my midwife says that if I get her vertex before then, to come in right away for a membrane sweep.

Because I'm a vbac they won't induce or do an external version.

oh so sorry momma! that must be disappointing. It sounds like your fundus is measuring a bit big (not a very accurate measurment) but the u/s doesn't show that and their records put you at only 37+3? So tuesday you've barely hit 38 weeks by their records, right? You really could push on them to wait until you are b/w 39 and 40 weeks for the c/s date w/out sounding crazy. A baby coming out 2 weeks early is not something to shrug off. They c/s me at 39 weeks for breech and she was under cooked a tad and extremely high needs.

it sounds like ECVs can be performed if the hospital can do an emergency C/S. Why not ask for a perinatogist or OB to be there right before you c/s to try the version then and there?  If that means and afternoon c/s, so be it.

having had more than one baby and this baby having been nonbreech, gives it a good chance a ecv might just work!

Forgive my ignorance, but why do they want to section you early if she doesn't turn? Is there a potential for her to damage the previous scar if she tries to flip if she's too big?

I continue to be disgusted at the policies you're subjected to and their complete opposition to evidence-based care!  I won't get on my soapbox about each and every one, but darn it, as I've said before, I wish you could come here and have care at a hospital that actually will give you a chance at a VBAC.

I'm sending turning thoughts your way. And I'm also hoping that you can somehow come to be at peace with however this turns out. I am so sorry you're being abused by the system like this.

Something like that. They also don't want me going into spontaneous labor with a breech baby. They also played the big baby card.

I really really can't stand it all, but I'm doing what I can.

Baby hasn't turned yet. I may get myself to a pool tonight if she doesnt.

I also had the push of "don't you dare go into labor b/c you might have a footling" BUT also the nurse that admitted me for preop said she's seen plenty of footlings so moms do wait/do push on the policy. Its your body and your baby. You went late w/ one of your other births right and I don't understand how they say big baby when by ultrasound you have a 9/15 due date..so again, I think you have a lot of rationale for pushing at least until the end of next week. That gives you more time for baby to flip. I did try summersaults/head stands in the pool many many times but to no avail.

Wcm, I find out my breech status at 2:30 today, so I'm there with you.

One thing my MW suggested was sitting in a warm tub just below your belly button, and having a bag of frozen veg on top of your uterus. Stay relaxed there for about 20-30 mins and baby should turn. if baby starts moving wildly though, stop because that suggests something is preventing them from moving.

And she suggested headstands in the pool too. But dang, CPD pools are really cold right now!

For both of you, I really hope these babes decide to get head down and if not, that you can come to peace with different births than you imagined.  I have BTDT, and it is not a fun ride. <3

Mine is head down now. I've been feeling crampy and having contractions all day, hopefully labor is soon .
I got her to turn by playing terrible music behind her head in combo with inversions and breech tilts.

I first played a terrible loud song called Cumbia Tribalera.  Didn't work.  Then I tried some Spice Girls.  Didn't work.  The song that worked is called Wobble Wobble.. I'm not sure who it's by, but it's an obnoxious hip-hop dance song that they play at my job quite often (baby always wobbles during it!).

Here's the crazy thing.  Baby flipped breech (well, more like transverse) again on my train ride home.  I quickly coaxed her back into position (gently!) and head is now down.  

I just had a very loose BM so I hope that's the signal that labor is starting soon.
