Sporadic movement

Anyone else have a baby that you just don't feel very often? I started feeling my last baby at 11 weeks and from that point on I felt him on and off all day every day. He is constantly on the move even outside the womb. I'm 15.5 weeks with this one (baby #5) and I started feeling him/her at 13 weeks, but it's just a kick here, a kick there & it can be 3-4 days between kicks. My uterus hasn't grown in a couple weeks and that is bugging me, but I had been measuring several weeks ahead, so maybe it is slowing down and baby's just catching up? Idk.. I haven't felt the baby for sure since the day before yesterday and I have all these awful scenarios in my head. I hate worrying!

It seems like in the past 4-5 days the movement that I was feeling has gotten less distinct.  (I'm 14w3d and felt movement at 12w).  I'm pretty sure I'm still feeling it occasionally, but keep second guessing myself.  Yesterday I was having braxton hicks-like contractions like crazy, and not feeling much movement, and I was freaking out a little that the contractions were all of a sudden going to turn into miscarriage cramps.  The contractions were gone this morning, I've just had a couple this evening, and I've felt the occasional reassuring flutter.  I think.irked.gif  It really does drive one crazy being able to feel movement...almost!  My belly has really popped out more today, and I'm thinking the contractions maybe had something to do with a growth spurt?

Wish I could be more help.  Every pregnancy's different and I'm sure what you're feeling is just a normal variation.  hug2.gif

I'm at 17 weeks and am finally starting to feel more than just one kick here and there.

I only feel movement when I'm sitting down and up until 2 days ago it would be one "flop" and then nothing.  I don't think I was feeling movement daily, either.  Yesterday and the day before there was movement going on for about 30 seconds or so, which was just super fun.  Couldn't keep the smile off my face.

Try not to worry!!  hug2.gif

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I really had myself convinced the baby was dead yesterday and then I felt some gentle taps at bedtime which was great. I am just so used to how hyper my last baby was, maybe this will be a calm little girl! That would be nice. orngtongue.gif

josie423 - I went through the same thing as you. I felt nothing and my uterus didn't seem to grow at all for about 2 weeks. Also, my symptoms seemed to be improving so I thought for sure the baby was gone. I bought a Sonoline-b doppler for $50 bucks on Ebay, just for my own piece of mind. I don't use it often - only about 1x week and only for a few minutes. I know the doppler is a controversial topic, so I don't want to get anyone upset or start a whole big discussion. Being old as dirt, and having lost pregnancies before, I need the reassurance to avoid going into full blown panic mode. I can't wait until I feel movement every day! babyf.gif

Also feeling sporadic movement!  I think it's normal at this stage in pregnancy!

Jess, I've never had a doppler and my midwife doesn't like to use them much, but right now.. I want one dangit! Lol! I also think this is normal. I just can't wait until I'm feeling lots of movement.

Josie-

This too has been my quietest one, and i was greatly relieved to hear the doppler a few weeks back.  but this has been a much chiller baby than my last (i have an odd memory of constant movement from 12 weeks on, and based on her now, i think it's probably accurate).  last night i had my first little jabs.  not kicks, but shark little pokes.  i was sooooooo relieved b/c other than gas-like waves and rolls, it's been way too chill in there.

here's for more consistent and strong movements!!!

Brambleberry-

I've totally had the aching twinging pulling sensation in my uterus and cervical pressure and freaked out- but i think that when you're uterus is expanding AGAIN you can actually feel it more.  my 3rd baby i had a lot of that pain, and at first it freaked me out, but then i realized it was just the growth aches.  also did have braxton hicks when exercising and doing too much from 4 months on.  my mother also had that.  has not been a sign of problems, but perhaps an overachieving uterus prepared a bit ahead....

After being down in the dumps about it all day, I was lying on my daughter's bed and started feeling some thumps. I was able to feel them from the outside too! Thank you, baby! luxlove.gif That should be enough to keep me from worrying that he/she is alive, haha.
