CDC's Vaccine Committee Whitewashed Toxic Vaccine Component, Says National Autism Association (NAA)

Parents and health advocates are expressing outrage over the recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP) that pregnant women, infants and children continue to be exposed to mercury contained in the flu vaccine despite recommendations from the Institute of Medicine that mercury not be injected into these sensitive populations since 2001.

Oh my. I thought this was no longer an issue and all vaccines are now mercury free. irked.gif

Not by a long shot.

The vast majority of flu shots are thimerosal-preserved.

Many adult vaccines are still manufactured in multi-use vials, and therefore thimerosal-preserved.

Thimerosal was banned in over-the-counter products like contact lens solutions and eyedrops, but has never been banned in vaccines or prescription eyedrops.

Thimerosal-preserved pediatric vaccines are still manufactured in the US, and sent to third-world countries--where the autism rate is skyrocketing.

It's also worth noting that the 2012 autism rate, as announced by the CDC earlier this year, is actually based on data from 2008--about 8-year-olds, who were born in 2000. Those children received the highest-ever number of cumulative doses of thimerosal-preserved vaccines, because the vaccine manufacturers had not yet begun to produce thimerosal-free, single-dose ampoules for most pediatric vaccines.

They were never subjected to a ban, to a recall, or to a direct order. The change to thimerosal-free pediatric vaccines was "voluntary."

I suppose this:

Today, with the exception of some influenza vaccine, none of the vaccines used to protect preschool children against 14 infectious diseases contain thimerosal as a preservative.

is what I thought to be true. It is followed by this caveat:

(Those with a concentration of less that 0.0002% contain what is considered "trace", or insignificant, amounts).

They're almost covering their legal butts by saying "some" flu shots.

We don't yet know about this coming year's flu shots, but until now, what I have read is that 80--90% of the flu shots are from multi-use vials.

Previous pro-vax posters here have argued that most brands are thimerosal-free, but the brands at are used most often are apparently the multi-use vials, so it doesn't matter how many. Differ thimerosal-free brains there are if very few are actually produced, distributed, and sold.

The FluMIST vaccine has always been thimerosal-free--but it is contraindicated for pregnant women and for children under the age of 3.

My local Targe, Awalgreens, CVS, and Rite-Aid pharmacies all have "Get Your Flu Shot NOW" signs up. At this point,, none of them had thimerosal-free flu shots, but maybe that will change.

I've also pointed out before that many pediatricians use adult formulations of vaccines for their tween and teen patients; the adult violins are thimerosal-preserved--and far cheaper for the pediatrician to use.

our grocery store had a poster up with FOUR different kinds of flu shots...the reg one for 18-65 yrs old, a thimerosol- mercury free one for pregnant women, the new microneedle shot for people afraid of needles, and a 'high dose' shot for seniors...why would seniors need a high dose? if anything, they've been exposed to the flu thru out their lifetime, and are immune, at least that's been my observation working with elderly for 13 yrs now.   What are they getting a high dose of?< Brain eating mercury to induce dementia/alzheimers sooner?

I remember those conversations.  Trying to find stats on how many pregnant women received thim containing flu shots was like trying to pin down jello.

The picture that emerged was:

-some pregnant women are offered thim-free shots

-thim-free shots are available in some places, but you have to know to ask

-some places do not have thim-free shots, but will happily vaccinate any pregnant women with no discussion of thim-free alternatives

-Availability of thim-free flu shots varies in different countries.  All publicly funded flu shots in Canada contain thimerosal.

On another note, Tripedia, the DTaP vax, has mercury in it:
