Let's have some fun, and list the foods we're craving or have craved (I often find myself craving something, then 3 bites in can't stand to finish Sheepish.gif).

Here's some of mine:

  • cream cheese and cucumber slices
  • onions sauteed with a touch of whiskey and maple syrup then stirred with (pasteurized) bleu cheesedrool.gif
  • baked potatoes with sour cream, chives, avocado, bacon bits, & cheese
  • avocado anything

What are yours?

Yum, Iron Mam, those all sound delicious, especially the cream cheese and cukes!  The other night I really wanted to make taco dip, but really did not want to run out to the store.  I've actually not been hungry at all, but eating protein because it makes me feel ok, and avoiding grains and starches because I get really nauseated after eating them.

Eggs have been tolerable.  Ok, I ate a bag of Utz's Garlic and Onion chips last night and a bag tonight.  They are small bags and I split them with my honey, so it wasn't really that many.  Oh, and gf macaroni and cheese.  I really wanted that the other day.  I ate so much mac and cheese when I was pregnant with DD!  I don't know why I crave processed food so hard, but I totally do.

-bananas

-chocolate peanut butter ice cream

-green bell peppers and raspberry vinaigrette

-apple sauce!!!

There are also a few things that have sounded WONDERFUL to me, but the first bite sent me to the trash can to spit it back out. I don't know what it is with me. I get so excited to eat something and then decide it's the nastiest thing I have ever tasted.

a sandwich consisting of swiss cheese, pickles, and chipotle mayo. I have like 2 a day.

My very dangerous craving though is meat.  I'm a vegetarian. bag.gif  And not just any meat; gross fast food meat, like chicken quesadillas from Taco Bell and chicken snack wraps at McDonalds.  So wrong on so many levels, but I just keep thinking about it, and I'm wondering if it's my body's way of telling me I need more protein.  I'm totally turned off by my usual protein sources and the fake-meats.  With my last pregnancy I gave in during my ninth month and ate meat.  It was lent, so I claimed that I gave up giving up meat for lent... Sheepish.gif

This reminded me of the "Friends" episode when Phoebe was pregnant and ate meat. I think Joey gave it up for her? Ah, fond memories of watching "Friends" with my friends. Btw, I'm going to try to get appointments at both West Suburban and see which gives me a better vibe. I finally have insurance so hopefully I'll be able to get in soon-ish. Thanks for the links to both places! The spa sounds lovely, is it terribly expensive? I'm assuming insurance won't cover massage, unfortunately.

I was craving pizza for about 2 weeks but now the thought of it totally turns me off. Blueberries and apples have been hitting the spot, and any fruit I can get my hands on! I've been craving protein like crazy, but meat more than vegetarian sources. I'm not a vegetarian, but I don't usually eat meat very often. Also, I almost never drink soda but I have been craving root beer. I had some with dinner tonight and it seriously hit the spot! I've been craving fried food, too, which I also almost never eat. I can't figure out why I want fried food, but the last time I ate some, the aftermath was SO not worth it! I also had to have some chips and french onion dip the other night. That was good. My stomach is definitely pickier this pregnancy than it was 6 years ago (the last time I was pregnant). It's interesting to notice the differences.

The only two things that have been consistently "good" are root beer floats and what I refer to as a "regular sandwich" (bread, a tiny bit of mayo, cheddar cheese, turkey lunch meat and lots of pickles.) Everything else, major food aversions. Having to make myself eat, and it's not going so well :(

A surrogate vegetarian is a great idea!

I've never tried the spa at West Sub Womens Health.  There is a menu with pricing on their website though.  One nice perk is they have a free childcare room for both your midwife appointments or the spa during daytime hours.

Iced tea - can't get enough. I'm usually not a drinker of anything consistently so I'm happy I'm craving fluids of some sort.

The only aversion I've had was potato salad - tasted bitter.

I crave mexican food (like I did with DD) and pizza. I finally got my pizza fix last night and it was goooood! It was a cheese pizza with extra cheese from Papa Johns. The thought of red meat isn't so good, but chicken is. I also crave Taco Bell mmmmm. And also like with DD, I MASSIVLY crave water. I drink so much its unreal.

Oh yeah, I've been wanting meat a lot more than usual. I'm not vegetarian, but I usually only make one or two meat dishes a week. Now I want it more often.

Oh, and mustard! I just love to roll up some mustard with a slice of salami or summer sausage. Did the same thing when I was pregnant with DD. I don't dislike mustard when I'm not pregnant, but I don't love it like I do when knocked up. eat.gif

I'm at a similar place.  The only things that have been consistently good for me are root beer floats (which I've only had twice) and some form of cheese/carb (cheese sandwiches, grilled cheese, mac and cheese -- although I do get this "ancient grain" kind that has lots of protein, which is helpful).  I can also eat dal, cream or wheat, apples, and watermelon, but I wouldn't say I have been craving those things -- just that I can choke and keep them down.

The first tri leaves me so demoralized by my food choices.  We usually eat so well, and l just CAN'T right now.

I'm hungry and want to eat, but nothing sounds good and cooking it is torture. Therefore, I'm eating best when someone else is cooking. I've been craving protein - steak, specifically, which is odd considering I rarely eat meat.

My favorite veggies tend to be brassicas... right now I cannot even think about broccoli without my tummy turning!!!

steak and cold watermelon sound good right now.

I get cravings... and then eat a few bites and don't want it. Or get it.. and don't want it.

I've really been digging queso and chips though... I could eat THAT all day haha

Last night I had a dream about Honeycomb cereal (I *think* I had been craving them in the dream, so ate a bowl). I woke up craving it baaaad. So one of the first things I did this morning was check online to see whether they even sell it in Canada. They do. So...

I bought two family size boxes today (hey! it was on sale)! ROTFLMAO.gif
