hello! i am almost to 17 weeks.
1.What's going on with your morning sickness, 1st trimester fatigue, and your baby bump?
i was a lucky one. i only had minimal nausea, and only when my stomach was empty first thing in the morning and when i was in the car. my nausea went away after 12 weeks, and my energy immediately started coming back. i live at a high altitude though, so i get VERY short of breath. i read that this is normal as the baby is pushing on me, though.
baby bump is visible, though i think i just look frumpy in the middle rather than pregnant. i am wearing maternity clothes, size small since i was already small to begin with. my boobs have more than doubled in size.
2 & 3. Are you planning to get the anatomy scan? How do you feel about it? Nervous, excited?
i am! i am so excited to know what we are having! i find out at my next visit, the 20 week appointment. the way we look at it is that either way-waiting or finding out-it will be a surprise!
4. How are things with your OB/midwife/ UC research going?
i researched for a doctor right when i found out i was pregnant. my fiance wanted only the best doctor, with credentials and a thorough history and experience. i like the practice, it's all female, which was very important to me, and i will know who exactly will deliver my baby between the 4 doctors. my 16 week visit yesterday proved disheartening though, as one of the doctors (who i will request not to see anymore) PUSHED vaccines and the flu shot on me. the other doctors seemed very easy going and respectful of everything we had to say and our needs and wishes.
5. Have you developed any new issues?
nosebleeds. again, the altitude and dry air may have something to do with this, but i know that it happens to women in kentucky, where the air is far from dry and altitude is nonexistent. stuffy nose, nosebleeds first thing in the morning, and the normal constipation. my eyes are also a little dry.
6. Are you nesting, or getting that second trimester burst of energy?
i live in the middle of nowhere in the mountains, in a national forest. i don't leave very often, since i just love being home. but i'm also a little weary of getting in the car, since people are in general horrible drivers. we are in the process of moving down the mountain in october, so i think i'm trying to milk the beauty as much as i can until we move into civilization.
7. If you arent a first time mom, how has this pregnancy differed from your other's/ if you are a first time mom, how has it differed from what you thought things would be like?
--first time mama.
8. Are you planning a shower/blessingway/ feed the freezer party?
my mother wants to throw a family get-together/baby shower across the country from where we live. i don't have any family on this side of the country, so it will just have to be that way.
9. Names- if you've got em'
we have a few names going, but we're keeping them a surprise.
10. What's the biggest thing(s) you have to get done before baby arrives?
move! and get baby stuff. we have nothing. we'll also be hitting up ikea for home-stuff, since we don't even own a dresser. i am also in the process of finding a birthing class that will satisfy our needs. i guess i'm pretty picky, but we also are very limited in our funds, so nothing fancy.
i look forward to reading about everyone's experience!
