Feb DDC Second Trimester Check-In Chat

Thread Starter

Hey Ladies!

How is everyone doing? It's the end of August, and our July/August chat is just about expired, so I thought I'd start a new one. Everyone in this DDC should have entered the second trimester by now, so I figured this was a good title. Here are a few questions to get us going. Before you answer, just give us a quick reminder of how many weeks you are, so that ladies behind you might have some stuff to anticipate. Yippee for the second trimester!

1.What's going on with your morning sickness, 1st trimester fatigue, and your baby bump?

2. Are you planning to get the anatomy scan? How do you feel about it? Nervous, excited?

3. Do you know your baby's sex or are you planning to find out during pregnancy?

4. How are things with your OB/midwife/ UC research going?

5. Have you developed any new issues?

6. Are you nesting, or getting that second trimester burst of energy?

7. If you arent a first time mom, how has this pregnancy differed from your other's/ if you are a first time mom, how has it differed from what you thought things would be like?

8. Are you planning a shower/blessingway/ feed the freezer party?

9. Names- if you've got em'

10. What's the biggest thing(s)  you have to get done before baby arrives?

Fun!  I am 16w4d today.

1.What's going on with your morning sickness, 1st trimester fatigue, and your baby bump?  Morning sickness is just about nothing, 1st trimester fatigue is easing up and my baby bump seems about the same but I think it's less bloating.  I have only one belly shot at 15 weeks, though.  I'm sure I have grown more since 4 weeks than I realize. lol  Definitely need to wear maternity clothes now though!

2. Are you planning to get the anatomy scan? How do you feel about it? Nervous, excited?  Very excited for my anatomy scan scheduled for September 18!  I will be 19w1d then.

3. Do you know your baby's sex or are you planning to find out during pregnancy?  Hope to find out at the anatomy scan or shortly thereafter if the ultrasound tech won't disclose.

4. How are things with your OB/midwife/ UC research going?  Love my midwives.  I have the same midwives as last pregnancy.  There is a student following my primary midwife, though and if my primary attends the birth, the student will likely be there too!

5. Have you developed any new issues?  Just some hip pain.  This developed at 25 weeks in pregnancy with DD.  I'm already seeing a chiropractor for this pregnancy and will continue to until birth.

6. Are you nesting, or getting that second trimester burst of energy?  No nesting.  Maybe once I find out the sex I'll feel more excited.  My very close BIL and SIL just had a baby last Thursday and being around them helping out and seeing how my DD first responded to the baby have actually made me less excited for the new little one...I'm scared!!

7. If you arent a first time mom, how has this pregnancy differed from your other's/ if you are a first time mom, how has it differed from what you thought things would be like?  This pregnancy has been easier so far, I think.  The aches are settling in earlier though, which my chiropractor warned me about.  I'm definitely bigger earlier and I'm REALLY looking forward to third trimester being in the winter rather than summer!

8. Are you planning a shower/blessingway/ feed the freezer party?  Not planning anything for this one.

9. Names- if you've got em' - no idea yet!  I've started to make a list of boy names because I know we will struggle more with coming up with a boy name.  We won't start discussing until we know the sex.  It's just easier for us that way.

10. What's the biggest thing(s)  you have to get done before baby arrives?  Once we know the sex I'd like to go through DD's clothes and see what we will keep and what we will give away...other than that, there is not much we need!  I need to gather home birth supplies, strip the cloth diapers, buy a new baby carrier, maybe a few more 0-3 month clothing pieces that are wintery and that's about it!

17 weeks, 1 day

1.What's going on with your morning sickness, 1st trimester fatigue, and your baby bump?

My morning sickness was actually pretty mild, but the fatigue was horrible. Im still dealing with it, but things are getting better. This baby bump is getting big.

2. Are you planning to get the anatomy scan? How do you feel about it? Nervous, excited?

My scan is next Thursday. Im pretty nervous about it, but excited as well. Im going to ask them to double check the sexes just to make sure.

3. Do you know your baby's sex or are you planning to find out during pregnancy?

Two Girls! Very exciting, but I am a little sad that there is no boy in there.

4. How are things with your OB/midwife/ UC research going?

My OB is great, i love her to pieces. The MFM practice Im dealing with isn't so awesome. They insist that I have to have an epidural and deliver in the OR, with no doula or second support person. DH and I plan on talking to them about that when we go next Thursday.

5. Have you developed any new issues?

I just had a tooth removed, which I've never had before. It was awful, and Im in a little pain, but I have been able to control it with just tylenol.

6. Are you nesting, or getting that second trimester burst of energy?

Nesting! I'm finally getting excited that there are TWO of them and have been trying to get everything done while I have a little more energy. Purple is my color of choice :)

7. If you arent a first time mom, how has this pregnancy differed from your other's/ if you are a first time mom, how has it differed from what you thought things would be like?

Well, it's obviously different, in that there are two babies in there. Mainly, my ankles and feet have really been hurting and Ive been getting lots of tiny varicose veins. Im way more tired than I ever have been during pregnancy before.

8. Are you planning a shower/blessingway/ feed the freezer party?

Some good friends of mine are planning a shower for me. It will be in mid october.

9. Names- if you've got em'

Clementine and Calliope...maybe. Calliope is a must- Clementine if I can get past the fact that they both start with a "C" and Im not in love with the nickname Clemmy. I also really like Ophelia, but DH thinks it's "too tragic"

10. What's the biggest thing(s)  you have to get done before baby arrives?

Buy a new car! We're thinking Honda Odyessy- We have to rear face three kiddos!

hello! i am almost to 17 weeks.

1.What's going on with your morning sickness, 1st trimester fatigue, and your baby bump?

i was a lucky one. i only had minimal nausea, and only when my stomach was empty first thing in the morning and when i was in the car. my nausea went away after 12 weeks, and my energy immediately started coming back. i live at a high altitude though, so i get VERY short of breath. i read that this is normal as the baby is pushing on me, though.

baby bump is visible, though i think i just look frumpy in the middle rather than pregnant. i am wearing maternity clothes, size small since i was already small to begin with. my boobs have more than doubled in size.

2 & 3. Are you planning to get the anatomy scan? How do you feel about it? Nervous, excited?

i am! i am so excited to know what we are having! i find out at my next visit, the 20 week appointment. the way we look at it is that either way-waiting or finding out-it will be a surprise!

4. How are things with your OB/midwife/ UC research going?

i researched for a doctor right when i found out i was pregnant. my fiance wanted only the best doctor, with credentials and a thorough history and experience. i like the practice, it's all female, which was very important to me, and i will know who exactly will deliver my baby between the 4 doctors. my 16 week visit yesterday proved disheartening though, as one of the doctors (who i will request not to see anymore) PUSHED vaccines and the flu shot on me. the other doctors seemed very easy going and respectful of everything we had to say and our needs and wishes.

5. Have you developed any new issues?

nosebleeds. again, the altitude and dry air may have something to do with this, but i know that it happens to women in kentucky, where the air is far from dry and altitude is nonexistent. stuffy nose, nosebleeds first thing in the morning, and the normal constipation. my eyes are also a little dry.

6. Are you nesting, or getting that second trimester burst of energy?

i live in the middle of nowhere in the mountains, in a national forest. i don't leave very often, since i just love being home. but i'm also a little weary of getting in the car, since people are in general horrible drivers. we are in the process of moving down the mountain in october, so i think i'm trying to milk the beauty as much as i can until we move into civilization.

7. If you arent a first time mom, how has this pregnancy differed from your other's/ if you are a first time mom, how has it differed from what you thought things would be like?

--first time mama.

8. Are you planning a shower/blessingway/ feed the freezer party?

my mother wants to throw a family get-together/baby shower across the country from where we live. i don't have any family on this side of the country, so it will just have to be that way.

9. Names- if you've got em'

we have a few names going, but we're keeping them a surprise.

10. What's the biggest thing(s) you have to get done before baby arrives?

move! and get baby stuff. we have nothing. we'll also be hitting up ikea for home-stuff, since we don't even own a dresser. i am also in the process of finding a birthing class that will satisfy our needs. i guess i'm pretty picky, but we also are very limited in our funds, so nothing fancy.

i look forward to reading about everyone's experience!

"I'm definitely bigger earlier and I'm REALLY looking forward to third trimester being in the winter rather than summer!"

same here! it's been SO HOT here, and i am not a heat person. i thought i moved to colorado to get away from it. 100+ degree days all the time and no rain or shade. awful.

I'm 17 weeks! I think...

1.What's going on with your morning sickness, 1st trimester fatigue, and your baby bump?

MS is gone-- yipee! But I seem to be getting more and more fatigued. Bump is going strong and there's no mistaking I'm pregnant at this point.

2. Are you planning to get the anatomy scan? How do you feel about it? Nervous, excited?

Yes. Thought I could schedule it, but waiting for records to get transferred. Hoping I can get it done ASAP. I'm not feeling nervous about it, but just excited about knowing the sex.

3. Do you know your baby's sex or are you planning to find out during pregnancy?

Definitely finding out.

4. How are things with your OB/midwife/ UC research going?

I have my first official appointment with my midwife next week. She's just great and I expect to be really happy with her.

5. Have you developed any new issues?

The heartburn is starting to creep in. I already have GI issues with acid/ulcer so it's nothing new but it still sucks!

6. Are you nesting, or getting that second trimester burst of energy?

Still pretty tired. No nesting as of yet.

7. If you arent a first time mom, how has this pregnancy differed from your other's/ if you are a first time mom, how has it differed from what you thought things would be like?

I was much sicker with MS this time around, but other than that the pregnancies have been similar. Besides acid reflux and exhaustion I have pretty healthy and comfortable pregnancies. With DS2 I felt like superwoman in the 2nd trimester and I was hoping for that this time around, but it seems like I'm just tired like I was with DS1. My only new complaint, as this is my third baby, is that my veins are getting really bad. After breastfeeding the second time, my veins disappeared a little, but I am getting so many new spider spots that I think sexy leg time might be over. I'm trying not to care but I do.

8. Are you planning a shower/blessingway/ feed the freezer party?

Nothing planned yet but my family/friends want to do something. We'll figure it out closer to the third trimester.

9. Names- if you've got em'

I've put some on the name thread, but we're all over the place until we know boy or girl.

10. What's the biggest thing(s)  you have to get done before baby arrives?

We most likely have to get a new car.

I'm 15+6

1.What's going on with your morning sickness, 1st trimester fatigue, and your baby bump? I have no morning sickness and am not too terribly exhausted if my nine month old has a 'good' night. In the last two days my bump has grown a lot and the scale hasn't, so baby must be growing! Yay!

2. Are you planning to get the anatomy scan? How do you feel about it? Nervous, excited? No anatomy scan.

3. Do you know your baby's sex or are you planning to find out during pregnancy? We will wait till birth.

4. How are things with your OB/midwife/ UC research going? I'm using the same midwife I've used during all my other pregnancies, things are going well there. I see her next at 20 weeks.

5. Have you developed any new issues? Yes, I've been in ketosis.. I'm trying to up my carbs, hopefully it goes away.

6. Are you nesting, or getting that second trimester burst of energy? It varies by the day and how much sleep I get at night. So, on and off.

7. If you arent a first time mom, how has this pregnancy differed from your other's/ if you are a first time mom, how has it differed from what you thought things would be like? Well, this is my first pregnancy I haven't gained loads of weight in yet. My morning sickness was worse and I was measuring waay ahead early on (don't think it's twins tho). It has been different, but as I get further along and feel more movement it feels more normal.

8. Are you planning a shower/blessingway/ feed the freezer party? I plan on making lots of freezer meals.

9. Names- if you've got em' Lydia and Reuben

10. What's the biggest thing(s)  you have to get done before baby arrives? Hmmm.. Probably get our propane tank filled. It has a little left from last winter but not much. Sigh... $$$$$

1.What's going on with your morning sickness, 1st trimester fatigue, and your baby bump?

MS had gone away at 14 weeks and then came back again this week at 16 weeks.... not so bad, but still enough that I don't want to eat as much.  Not too tired, but I get to nap almost every day with DD2.... Bump is growing I guess (MIL says it is big, but yesterday I saw someone who would have asked, but she didn't..... so must not have been visible to her).

2. Are you planning to get the anatomy scan? How do you feel about it? Nervous, excited?

No anatomy scan

3. Do you know your baby's sex or are you planning to find out during pregnancy?

Boy!  We are excited, although we would have been completely happy with a family of 3 girls!  I am excited to have a little boy though.

4. How are things with your OB/midwife/ UC research going?

We have a MW and are having a homebirth.  She is nice and we are comfortable with her.  I had my last at home, but in a different town and i LOVED my MW there. So, a bit disappointed that we are not having her.

5. Have you developed any new issues?

Low back is starting to hurt a bit.  I am still sleeping on my belly (not on purpose, I wake up like that) and I think baby is pressing into my back.  Need to hit the chiropractor.

6. Are you nesting, or getting that second trimester burst of energy?

I have been working out daily and have been doing lots of stuff to the house!

7. If you arent a first time mom, how has this pregnancy differed from your other's/ if you are a first time mom, how has it differed from what you thought things would be like?

I was much sicker this pregnancy and really thought it was a girl.  everything else seems to be quite similar.

8. Are you planning a shower/blessingway/ feed the freezer party?

I don't know yet.  Most likely not, but I would love to have a blessingway.

9. Names- if you've got em'

Emmett or Lincoln maybe

10. What's the biggest thing(s)  you have to get done before baby arrives?

Organizing clothes and rooms!  I don't really need anything for baby, although, I want to get a 'my breast friend' nursing pad instead of the 2 boppys that I have

I am also happy to be having a winter baby! Having twice done the third trimester in the summer heat, it will be a welcomed change.

1.What's going on with your morning sickness, 1st trimester fatigue, and your baby bump?   15+ 5, Still on the Zofran pump, but Im so very fortunate that it works very well for me and I've only lost it once this past month.  We're talking about turning down my dosage soon to see how I do, which really scares me, but Im willing to try.  Have to do it some time!  I've been super tired this week, but school just started back so I've been up at the crack of dawn getting the kids ready and such.  Nap time is awesome. <3  I can FINALLY see a baby bump while laying down now.  Standing I dont look much different than before.  I finally gained a pound this week!

2. Are you planning to get the anatomy scan? How do you feel about it? Nervous, excited?  Im having one done but have mixed feelings about it.  My OB doesnt do the 20 week scan, he sends you across the hall to his buddy who does level 2 sonos all day.  I wish I could just have a quick once over and be done, but I dont think it's going to work that way.

3. Do you know your baby's sex or are you planning to find out during pregnancy?  I think we're leaving it a surprise.  We tried really hard for one last time and made it to 35 weeks when my old OB blew it.

4. How are things with your OB/midwife/ UC research going?  Im interviewing a midwife next week.  I like my OB ok, but I really dont want to deliver in a hospital.  BTDT, dont want to repeat it.

5. Have you developed any new issues?  Heart palpitations!

6. Are you nesting, or getting that second trimester burst of energy?  Mentally yes, physically no!  LOL  So much I want to do, but then Im like 'Meh, I dont wanna move right now.'

7. If you arent a first time mom, how has this pregnancy differed from your other's/ if you are a first time mom, how has it differed from what you thought things would be like?  I havent showed like my others, or felt movement as early as the others.  I have no real intuition on gender.

8. Are you planning a shower/blessingway/ feed the freezer party?   No

9. Names- if you've got em'  None yet.

10. What's the biggest thing(s)  you have to get done before baby arrives?   Work on the nursery, get a minivan!

1.What's going on with your morning sickness, 1st trimester fatigue, and your baby bump? (I am 16w2d). The m/s is better. It is.pretty much gone, but every now and then appears again for a little while.

2. Are you planning to get the anatomy scan? How do you feel about it? Nervous, excited? Yes. It is scheduled for the 24th of Sept. I just had a pretty detailed scan on yesterday and as far as i know so far everything looked okay, so the a/s should be more of the same, except further away. I believe it will be my big (only seemingly)chance to.consult with the mfm

3. Do you know your baby's sex or are you planning to find out during pregnancy? I have had two techs at two different hospitals say the babies.are girls. They both said to.wait until the a/s to be really sure, but i think they are girls (and like you, Holly, i am a little sad there isn't a boy in there, even though i.knew it would be two boys or two girls).

4. How are things with your OB/midwife/ UC research going? UGH!!!!!!!

5. Have you developed any new issues?I was told a.week.or.so.ago that i have complete previa and to be on pelvic rest, but i think.it is too early to worry about it.

6. Are you nesting, or getting that second trimester burst of energy? Hahaha...energy?? What is that? Actually, i did feel a little less exhausted after about 14w. The exhaustion seems to have come back lately. I just woke up from a three hour nap and i feel.like i didn't even take it.

7. If you arent a first time mom, how has this pregnancy differed from your other's/ if you are a first time mom, how has it differed from what you thought things would be like? I feel like i am way more tired this time.

8. Are you planning a shower/blessingway/ feed the freezer party? Maybe...Magnetic

9. Names- if you've got em' My mother suggested Reese and Riley and i think they are pretty cute (i am not in love with them, but it is better than anything i have managed to.come up with). Dh does not really like them though....but he has nothing to offer still. I reallt haven't given it sufficient thought yet.

10. What's the biggest thing(s) you have to get done before baby come?

1.What's going on with your morning sickness, 1st trimester fatigue, and your baby bump?

Morning sickness almost gone, but I still can't let me belly get empty or I'm miserable again.  My biggest problem has been the food aversions - It's the pits trying to find something to eat 6 times a day when NOTHING sounds good.  But that's getting better.  Food still doesn't excite me, but I'm no longer having trouble swallowing it (usually).  Baby bump is growing like crazy!  Been in maternity pants for a few weeks now.

2. Are you planning to get the anatomy scan? How do you feel about it? Nervous, excited?

I am - it's the only u/s we hope to have.  Excited!

3. Do you know your baby's sex or are you planning to find out during pregnancy?

No - we like to let the mystery be.

4. How are things with your OB/midwife/ UC research going?

My family practice doc is a family friend and I feel really comfortable with her.  She delivered DD.  She's willing to consider doing a home birth for me, so we'll see what we can work out.

5. Have you developed any new issues?

I've been having headaches EVERY SINGLE night.  When I lay down my sinuses just don't drain right.  Yoga before bed helps.

6. Are you nesting, or getting that second trimester burst of energy?

I wish!

7. If you arent a first time mom, how has this pregnancy differed from your other's/ if you are a first time mom, how has it differed from what you thought things would be like?

Last time I had less headaches, not more!  I had expected the ms to be less since I've been taking milk thistle since well before I conceived, but no.

8. Are you planning a shower/blessingway/ feed the freezer party?

Like to have a blessingway.  No plans made yet.

9. Names- if you've got em'

We have a list going, but neither of us are really happy with any of them.

10. What's the biggest thing(s)  you have to get done before baby arrives?

We moved into our house a little unfinished right before DD was born (THAT was the big project to finish that time).  It's a strawbale house and my husband and I have been doing all the work ourselves.  I'd like to get walls up around our bedroom before the baby comes, but it's not totally necessary (right now we have curtains for walls).  We also need to get a new car - we have a two-door Echo right now, which has been a challenge with one kid, and I'm not up to dealing with it with two kiddos.

1.What's going on with your morning sickness, 1st trimester fatigue, and your baby bump?

Morning sickness is completely gone to a point where I can even take a shower before breakfast without nausea. Incredibly thankful that the first trimester is over, so now I get to enjoy the pregnancy. Baby bump is looking large and round, though I'm admittedly surprised at how thick my entire torso has gotten considering I haven't actually gained any extra, non-pregnant weight.

2. Are you planning to get the anatomy scan? How do you feel about it? Nervous, excited?

Have one scheduled for the end of September and I'm thrilled about it - I can't wait to see my baby again. I've had the date since about 10 weeks and it felt so far away that it's pretty great to now at least be in the same month as the appointment. I can't wait to find out the sex! DH and I are both officially leaning toward girl now and I've only had two gender-specific dreams where it was a girl.

3. Do you know your baby's sex or are you planning to find out during pregnancy?

See above

4. How are things with your OB/midwife/ UC research going?

My doctor (who is a family doctor, but not my family doctor outside of pregnancy) is pretty good. I've heard some pretty terrible things about others in town, so I'm thankful for mine. She's really into numbers and statistics, which is really suited to my personality so it's nice, but I have to admit that she started looking slightly annoyed when I was discussing my preference for a natural birth. It doesn't really matter though, since she'll only be there briefly to deliver the baby, the rest of the labour will be with the nurses (which, she assured me, as generally assigned to patients according to preferences and personality)

5. Have you developed any new issues?

The sciatica thing is a really annoying problem for me, since pre-pregnancy I was a runner and I really can't do that anymore at all without suffering. I'm starting to recognize the first signs though, so I've been able to avoid any serious pain for a few weeks now. I've also been having a lot of heartburn and what I assume is either anal fissures or hemorrhoids (or one caused by the other) because I have been having pain and blood during bowl movements lately - isn't pregnancy glamorous!

6. Are you nesting, or getting that second trimester burst of energy?

Absolutely! I spent all of yesterday collecting things from around town to upgrade and paint three pieces of furniture, as well as cleaning out closets and donating a bunch of unused stuff.

7. If you aren't a first time mom, how has this pregnancy differed from your other's/ if you are a first time mom, how has it differed from what you thought things would be like?

First time I've been this pregnant, so I wouldn't know.

8. Are you planning a shower/blessingway/ feed the freezer party?

I really don't think I'll have any of these since most of my friends and live in different provinces or countries. I've registered at a big store with online shopping in case anyone wants to help us out, but I'm really not relying on anyone to buy us anything big/that we need.

9. Names- if you've got em'

Boy: Alexander.

Girl: Mayim? Elsie? Alexis? Charlotte?

10. What's the biggest thing(s)  you have to get done before baby arrives?

I really can't think of anything aside from some purchases. Honestly, baby could be born today and it would be covered. I'm an organizer, so as soon as I think of something that I should do, I get it done right away.

MaybeJ- Boy names are way more of a struggle for us as well.

Kellybeth- I ♥ ikea. It's so great for broke folks like us. And the best trip into the city ever :)

loveandgarbage- Oh the HEARTBURN! I forgot to mention that in mine. Do you do anything about it? The heartburn tea just isnt cutting it this time, but I havent taken anything for it yet. IM also getting spider veins everywhere. Most of mine went away after birth last time. A friend of mine told me you can get them on your vulva. Scary!

josie- I made a bunch of freezer meals last time, and wound up eating most of them in my third trimester. bag.gif This time, Im going to make freezer meals for my third trimester and hopefully people will bring me food after babies are born.

lilysmama- two more twin girls! This is the first Im hearing of it. What does magnetic mean?

Brambleberry- I had headaches for 6 days in a row last week. It sucks, and tylenol doesnt do anything for mine. Lots of water, salty food?

What does MFM stand for?  A mandatory epidural and no doula sounds absolutely absurd to me!  Just because twins are high risk?  Surely you can find someone else.

Holly, I was sick the last week of my last pregnancy and then he came at 38 weeks, so I didn't get much in the freezer unfortunately. I hope to do better this time! And I'm also going to try to get some stuff in for the third tri!

Oh - I love Clementine, by the way!  And I like how Clementine and Calliope go together.  I wouldn't worry about a nickname for Clementine - you don't have to shorten it.

Bramble- MFM is maternal fetal medicine. It's the L&D attached to Kosair Children's NICU, so IF I have to give birth in Louisville then that's where Ill be. The only things that would lead me to having to be there are previa, pre-e, and preterm delivery. But, hopefully I can just stay in Bardstown and give birth with my OB.

17w 5days :)

1.What's going on with your morning sickness, 1st trimester fatigue, and your baby bump?

Morning sickness is mostly gone, still sick in the mornings and evenings, but afternoons are pretty good.. getting bursts of energy here and there. This is the longest I've been sick with any pregnancy!!! Bump is getting big, I'd say I look obviously pregnant in most outfits. :)

2. Are you planning to get the anatomy scan? How do you feel about it? Nervous, excited?

We are, and I am very excited. We had initially decided NOT to find out the sex, but after a horrible first 16-17 weeks we decided to find out.. needing something to positively connect me to this baby.

3. Do you know your baby's sex or are you planning to find out during pregnancy?

we will find out, our appt is September 10th!!!!

4. How are things with your OB/midwife/ UC research going?

We are seeing the same homebirth midwife we saw with DS2, and everything is going great. I LOVE HER!!!

5. Have you developed any new issues?

hip/leg pain already.. need to go see my chiro!

6. Are you nesting, or getting that second trimester burst of energy?

bursts of energy here and there! I was able to keep up with house chores this week, which felt so good!!!!

7. If you arent a first time mom, how has this pregnancy differed from your other's/ if you are a first time mom, how has it differed from what you thought things would be like?

3rd pregnancy, and I have been sick longer and the sickness has gotten to me a lot more this time too. It has been the hardest summer of my life.. trying to take care of my family and being so sick. :( so glad it is pretty much over!

8. Are you planning a shower/blessingway/ feed the freezer party?

not planning anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if I got a "surprise" shower from a couple girlfriends :)

9. Names- if you've got em'

We have finally settled on names!!! They are kind of secret though, so shhh ;)

girl-- Willa Eleanore (I have always loved Willa, since I first heard it about 10 years ago.... Eleanore was my great-grandmother's name who passed when I was 9, and we were very close)

boy-- Talley Morgan (Talley is DH's mom's maiden name.. and her dad went by "Talley", he passed away suddenly about 35 years ago, at a very young age, because of a rare blood issue, and Talley as a surname means "peaceable"!!!!! Morgan is my Dad's middle name)

10. What's the biggest thing(s) you have to get done before baby arrives?

We have a lot of house projects, some painting, and moving rooms around.... hoping to get it all done!!!

I was already on Prilosec and Zantac pre-pregnancy and might up my dose. I need to make an appt with my GI doc to discuss what else I can do. Natural stuff that I've tried (and some have sort of worked?) are slippery elm lozenges, papaya and mint enzymes and traditional medicinals heartburn soother tea. You can also cut foods out of your diet that are known to cause heartburn, like onions, tomatoes, peppers, citrus and dairy. Though I must say, it's a little depressing to not be able to eat tomatoes right now!
