prenatal and nursing vitamins-is 4 years too long?

I have been starting to wonder if I should stop taking prenatal vitamins. I AM still breastfeeding a 3 1/2 year old. I AM trying to conceive. I forget somedays to take it. It means I take a lot of iron, in addition to other vitamins.

thanks

I wasn't able to tell exactly what your specific concern was, but if you want to take less iron (I know the prenatals with iron really upset my stomach) there are several OTC prenatanls without out it.  I am taking a gummy version that has no iron at all that I got at Target.  If you're TTC then I would keep taking something to make sure you're getting lots of folic acid. If I remember correctly, folic acid prevents neural tube defects, but only makes a difference very early in pregnancy so by the time you know your pregnant the the time you need the folic acid has mostly passed.
