GuavaGirl, I think I am 12 DPO.  I tested with strong, fast lines pretty early with my first two pregnancies so I thought it would be the same this time.  guess not!

AmandaLynnH, painting is a bit of a debated topic.  I personally have chosen to paint with low/no voc paint in well ventalaited areas later in my pregnancy.  I was actually staining wood and spray painting something last night because I thought I wasn't pregnant.  I personally choose to avoid spray paint and stain. ( There goes my little business of making ruler growth charts unless I can get DH to do the staining.)

Renaissance, Don't give up hope!  I felt like I was going to start my period yesterday and with my first I felt like I would start for a week-  Hope it happens for you!

Can I jump in?  I need to pick people's brain while I obsess!  I'm 8 days past a 5 day transfer of 2 fresh embryos.  That translates to 13dpo.  I've been getting neg hpts all along, so I got jumpy and bumped up my beta to today so I could just know what was going on!!  This morning I got the faintest of faint lines.  The first ghost line of this whole cycle.  Turns out the beta level is super low:  4.  They're saying to go ahead and retest on Thurs and see what happens.  [ETA:  I don't think my ghost line was an evap, I think I just got a fluke super sensitive test out of the batch.  Seems to happen once in a while.  I've never had an evap or false pos...there's always been some hcg in my system to detect.  Retesting tonight is neg again though.]

I don't have any experience with a chemical.  Would it have started this low and slow?  I thought they pop a positive and then fade out slowly? 

I've seen the stories of really slow and low numbers that result in a beautiful baby.  And until they tell me it's quit growing, I'm assuming there's a pokey little guy in there.  But I like to know what to expect for every scenario. 

The symptoms this time have been very subtle after the first couple of days.  SLOWLY increasing.  But just different.  Only in past day or two can I feel any of the tuggings that I felt in other pregnancies several days sooner. 

Total brain dump obviously!  I'm just trying to stay hopeful and have a clear view of where we might be headed at the same time.  If my numbers are ok on Thursday, I'm guessing I'm in for a long stretch of wait and see!!

From my chemical pregnancy experience, I got a one faint positive and started my cycle basically on time, that following cycle my period lasted for 6 days, with spotting on day 8, and ended up being a week late, so the chemical messed up that cycle. From this experience I decided to not test early again because the sad truth is that 1/4 pregnancies end in miscarriage and that helped me come to terms with the chemical. With that said, your situation sounds a lot more hopeful than mine was, best of luck to you !

Not sure it's more hopeful really.  But I've been looking up every story of a slow rising hcg resulting in a viable pregnancy.  And I just ordered a bunch of cheapie internet tests so I can POAS at will and quit buying tests at the store!  You know your in the TWW when you feel like you're wasting urine if you don't test!!  :P  If the number goes up, I'll want to test like mad until we get comfortable.  If not, I'll use them next cycle.

Checking In:  10 dpo.  BFN's from today and the previous 2 days (I know, so early), BUT! today I've been crampy with sore boobs.  The boobs parts is sort of typical but not the low abdominal & low back cramping.  I also feel bloated but I don't know if that's related.  I'm thinkngi I'm going to wait a few days to test so it's more accurate.  I got that early testing out of my system. ....but that's what happens when you spend time on this forum reading a thread full of people that say that got BFP's at 9dpo!

Ok, since I braindumped here...I did another test...this time the line is visible to the camera without ripping apart the test.

I'm feeling like we've got a solid chance.  Still a risk, but a chance.  Retest our beta tomorrow but with the line getting darker, I'm feeling more hopeful!

Rollercoastermama: Oh, that is exciting!  What symptoms are you feeling these days?  Just curious.  It will be interesting to see the difference in your beta test on thursday.

I definitely see a line!  Darker is better.  Fingers crossed that the beta # is growing and growing.  Good luck!

Thanks CoBabyMaker! On one side I'm really trying not to be soooo bummed but then on the other side I'm trying so hard not to get my hopes up. I think it's just the knowing we won't even have a shot at the next cycle cause hubby will be in the field... AND he will also be missing DS's birthday and most likely DD's first steps. Triple whammy. So hard to not feel down in the dumps about all that! So happy for you and your BFP! However faint, a lline is a line is a line! Just wish I could feel like maybe all this weepy bummed attitude about all these downers is pregnancy hormones cause I am normally a glass half full type person. But then I feel like I'm getting my hopes up too high! Haha... Oh I am suuuuch an over thinker!

My symptoms have been super subtle this time.  Plus I'm on Progesterone in Oil and Estrace because it's an IVF cycle...so that starts mimicing early pregnancy before anyone's even in there.  Last time I had sore bbs before transfer even!  Totally sneaky stuff!  But things I've noticed very gradually -- on a much slower pace than my previous pregnancies...now and then there's a pulling.  It gets a little twingey sometimes, like if I pick up my son, or walking out to my car (long walk) at the end of the day when I'm tired.  My digestion seems to flip flop between too slow and too fast about every other day.  I've had that in every pregnancy but it usually starts sooner.  Twice now I've waited too long for a meal and the flash of starving that hit me all of a sudden (instead of just a growling stomach) was accompanied by nausea that stuck around until my body realized it had some cals to work on.  I've never had throwing up morning sickness, but nausea from not eating for too long is pretty standard. 

Things are just slower to get rolling this time. And when I saw the crazy low hcg level, that totally made sense.  I was actually glad for the flash of nausea this morning.  It's a good sign of increasing hormone levels!  And the line visible to the naked eye this morning was major.  I've got a lot more hope.

Thanks!  Me too!  Tomorrow is a retest.  But I know I'll be doing at least a couple more tests in the meantime!

I'm so excited that I'm spamming anyone that will look!  The line this afternoon is darker than this morning!  No squinting required! 

Also, totally had to laugh at my mom.  When I told her my line was better this morning than yesterday, she was surprised and asked me "you take a test every day??"  What would she think if she knew I was doing three tests a day during peek times!  Thank goodness I had a bunch of cheapies!

I just found out today as well, due before May 15, what about you?

14 dpo is how it converts. I think I should be due about May 22.
