7w2d but measuring 6w1d with heartbeat - Help!

So, I had my ultrasound two days ago at 7w2d. The baby measured 6w1d and the tech would not tell me the heart rate (but she confirmed that the heart was beating). She told me I would have to make an apt with my doc for that info.

The reason for this ultrasound is because I went for one at 5w6d and all they saw was a yolk sac and a gestational sac measuring 5w.

They put my due date at April 22nd. FF says it's April 14th.

I'm sure of the dates in my chart:

For my money, you do.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me a little more then six years ago, and the end result is starting kindergarten next week.

The heartbeat is a really good sign. I see how the dates from ultrasound don't make a lot of sense with the chart - either you ovulated where it says you did, or you stumbled on to tests that give you a BFP at 5 DPO, which shouldn't be possible.

But - that babe has a beating heart, which I think is good cause for optimism.

I don't know much about early ultrasounds other than as always, they are just an approximation, and not an exact science. I am sorry for this stress you are going through and hope you can get some comforting answers soon hug2.gif

Sometimes a blastocyst takes a really long time to implant! As I understand it, it can take up to 12 days. That might be the cause of the discrepancy.  But I'd say a small embryo with a heartbeat is a good sign, regardless of the size, and getting your EDD moved forward by the hospital is ALWAYS a blessing.  If the dates really are off, it will become more apparent between 16-20 weeks when the uterus makes a dramatic shift in shape and really confirms dates.

I got a call from my doc yesterday. Heartbeat was 94bpm. Do I have hope?

Absolutely.  HB at ~7 weeks ranges from 90-110.  I know its so hard, but try and relax, Mama.

Not sure about the heartbeat rate, but with my current pregnancy I first measured a week earlier than even possible at a US. I'm now 18 weeks and at my last ultrasound was two weeks ahead. So, it's possible to have this happen and have a growing baby. Good sticky vibes to you smile.gif.

Ultrasounds that early have a one to two week range of error, so you really don't have anything to worry about. With an ultrasound that early, all you're really looking for it whether there is a baby (check) and that baby has a heartbeat (check). The chances of miscarriage once you have seen a heartbeat do down dramatically, so consider this a milestone passed.

It's easy to stress in this early stage but stressing isn't going to help anyone. Just try to focus on the positives for now and think about the little bean that you saw growing in there :)
