Anyone experiencing cramping/tightening? « Back to Group Discussions

I'm 18 weeks today and have been experiencing cramping/uterine tightening. Once it starts, the tightening doesn't let up for a few minutes. I remember having bh contractions early with my second pregnancy, but they would last under a minute or so. I'm sure what I'm currently experiencing is normal, but wanted to know if anyone else is having similar issues.

Yeah, my BH contractions have gotten more noticeable and stronger/earlier with each pregnancy.  With this one (#4), they started at about 11 weeks.  I haven't exactly timed these but they are pretty powerful, almost make me feel breathless for a minute.  Im not worried though.  If they were super consistent/painful, then I might be concerned.

My uterus tightens if I walk too fast, bend over and stand up, carry do something too heavy, have an orgasm, get out of breath, or basically do anything that takes energy at all.

I had my first very noticeable BH yesterday. I've been having them here and there but this one was a little more intense; it was really tight! I cramp on a regular basis too. When I'm cramping or having a lot of BHs, I try to slow down and drink a little more water.

I have noticed mine since before 12 weeks. Not too intense, but pressure and felt like baby was stretching out.... even when baby was too small to feel.

Yes, I've had this for awhile now-- forget when it started but pretty early. Walking around in the heat this summer always brought it on. But sometimes it's random. Like last night DH and I were watching a show and I was practically lying down and the tightening was pretty intense. But I could feel the baby moving so that was pretty cool!

I have occasional BH type contractions, usually associated with movement, but I had one day in first tri and one day earlier this week when I had them really frequently all day.  I think it was monday this past week.  I didn't time them, but it seemed like every ten minutes or maybe even more frequent by evening.  They didn't get stronger or painful or anything, just felt like BH and so I didn't start freaking out about it until I was already in bed and then I figured, well if it's a miscarriage or pre-term labor or something there's nothing to be done about it at this stage anyway, so I'll just go to sleep and call the doctor in the morning if it's worse or I'm bleeding or something.  The next day my belly was noticeably bigger so I think it was just the baby/my uterus having a growth spurt.

Ha!  yup!  this is me all the way.  though walking is usually milder, while orgasms can be almost painful.  i find myself sitting more instead of standing and carrying my little one b/c it's too much for me.  but it's not distractingly painful, just noticeable.

yup.  i've noticed this pregnancy (#4, well #5 if you count my m/c) i've had really long BH .. like 2-3 mins long.. i get them anytime i'm 'over doing it'  which is doing anything..  and more so in the afternoon than any other time of day..
