thank you everyone! We have family here from Wisconsin and that is fun!

Rhyko is doing very well. He's quite nearly walking. Doing lots of standing independently and hanging on with just one hand when cruising.

He's saying a few words, though not super consistently. He's 22.5 pounds and kinda short at 30.25 inches.

His favorite food is blueberry and skirt steak. And he loves to play with his mini Ikea pots and pans and finger puppets.

For being 2 months early, that is awesome!

I love that idea!

Rhyko has come such a long way! Go Rhyko!

Is "blueberry and skirt steak" one dish or two?

What does he say?

It's funny that 1.25 inches makes a difference between super tall and kinda short. I suppose there is a mot of height gained between 10 and 12 months?

It is mostly two dishes, Sara - but sometimes one! He likes combining flavors smile.gif

He says mama, Luna (the dog), ball and bird. And 'yeah' sometimes too.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. It has been a little emotional for me this week trying to be excited about hie birthday but having a lot of feelings about his birth come back up too.

Oh my goodness, sickness is in the air here on the DDC. Dd1, dsd, and I are all sick with food poisoning. We have no idea of the cause, but we all started throwing up during the night. Dh just texted to say he was feeling nauseous. Uh oh... Who will take care of us? Lol. Luckily, Jasper had an upset tummy yesterday so we limited his solids. He didn't eat anything we did.

Are you sure it's food poisoning?  If DH had a delayed reaction and Jasper had an upset tummy too it seems like just a GI bug.  hug2.gif I hope you feel better soon!

Hmm... I'm not sure. All I know is that it sucks. Jasper's tummy was upset for two days. I think dh is just having man sympathy sickness. But the three of us who are sick all started during the night. I just figured we managed to eat something bad. But it could just be a bug. Which then means I have dd2 and dh getting sick to look forward to.

Ugh, I'm so sorry Amanda!  The universe and I have a pact that we are never going to get a stomach bug again.  Do you think it will work?  It's just the worst!  I'm hope you all are better already today and that no one else has to go through it.  Argh, I HATE throwing up!!!   Side note, how could you tell Jasper was nauseous?

Thanks, Jaimee. I totally think your plan will work! I couldn't tell he was nauseous. Upset tummy was my cutesy way to say he's had some diarrhea for two days.

Yes, throwing up is the worst thing ever. It was every hour from 9:30 last night to 6 this morning. At least now I can drink again. I want dh to come home now! Jasper is tough to care for like this! I sent him to daycare for the morning so I could at least get some sleep. That helped.

We are officially all sick. Jasper's runny poops are now full on blow outs. Dh is miserable. Dd2 is sick. Now I feel awful because I sent Jasper to daycare. He may have gotten other kids sick. But he felt fine... I thought he was just having a reaction to some food. greensad.gif

Oh gosh I know how you feel.  KJ was at a birthday party hours before she landed in the ER.  I feel awful about it.  But you and I both did the best we could with very limited info.  Besides, by the time Jasper was exhibiting symptoms, he was probably the least contagious.  It's tricky trying to figure out how to contain an illness.  I mean, he might have caught it from someone in daycare in the first place and spread it to all of you!  I hope you all feel better soon, my dear.

Thanks, Katie. I had 13 girls over for Girl Scouts yesterday plus one friend of dd1's. The friend stayed for dinner, and her mom just said she was sick. So there is a chance all those little girls are sick. I am officially a public health menace.

Aw, just tell them it's a test to earn them the coveted I-survived-liquefied-insides badge.

Katie, that is hilarious! You know, they do have a design your own badge option. Hmm... It could have a puking Girl Scout on it!

Oh no Amanda!  How awful!  This is why I have a firm 48 hour rule in place when it comes to vomit and diarrhea (and this is part of my pact with the universe).  Not only do I not want to spread it, but when I hear that someone else has had an issue we steer clear for 2 days.  Poop and puke disease, no thank you!  Those things are virulent!  LOL about the puking badge though... I think we've earned about 5-6 since Avalon was born... we're all set!

I'm with you, Jaimee! I just had no idea! We had been giving Jasper pretty much anything we had to eat, so I thought something had disagreed with him and he needed a break. Sigh. Oh well, what can you do?!

So far, it's just the friend who stayed for dinner that is sick.

Oh, also I am missing two days of my third week of work. Employee of the year is in my future!

Katie, how are you doing today? Feeling better about the ER trip?

Jaimee, I forgot to say in the other thread: re your advice to Katie, you always have the best advice!! smile.gif
post #200 of 226

Ah, the puking girl scout badge.  What an honor!

Amanda, thanks for asking about me.  I'm not really feeling better about her trip to the ER, but I am so relieved that whatever this was was very short-lived.  She's pretty much 100% back to herself today (save some clinginess and fussiness that I think is teething-related).  I was crying to DH about her ER trip last night.  I don't know, it's really, really gut-wrenching for me to think about, so for the most part I'm trying not to think about it.  KJ seems ok but I am definitely not ok with what happened to her there.

And Jaimee, Amanda is right, you gave great advice. Thank you.  Thanks to everyone for their kind words, it means the world to me.
