I said a long time ago that we should meet right in the middle of the US. It's the only fair way! A get together in Kansas. Yep. Or someone could just win the lottery and fly us all to a tropical paradise. Also, I would so do Vermont. I would love to visit Vermont!

Today was my first day at work. Jasper screamed and clung to me like an abandoned monkey. It was tough. He had a rough day. Dh came and picked him up early. My childcare provider thought it would be helpful for us to get him early everyday for his first week, but we really can't swing that. :(   Job stuff was good, though. Everyone is super nice, great atmosphere.

That would break my heart, Amanda. :( That's one reason I just CAN'T look for work at this point. I wouldn't be able to focus on work. I couldn't even go about my day on Michael's first day of school, worried he'd be upset. :/

That's so hard, Amanda!  I'm sorry it didn't go smoother.  Maybe there is a way to get him super distracted while you leave?  Food or a special new toy?  Maybe it would be better if your dh dropped him off if that's possible?  I'm glad work is great, though!  And I never commented about how awesome it is that you have a lactation room!!  It's the wave of the future!

So my adventure of the day was when I found Avery sucking on our liquid ant bait trap like it was a popsicle.  Not awesome.  He had dead ants all over his face, hands, and feet.  I immediately gave him a bath and called poison control.  Fortunately based on the puddle of bait on the floor, it's pretty clear he only got a little taste and it's borax, not something else totally nasty.  Poison control assured me he would be just fine.  Ugh...

As for a reunion... well, we are pretty smack in the middle of the country and happy to host, but Urbana is far from some place awesome.  It's a little university town.  I think it makes the most sense to go where the most of us are- the PNW, I believe, to maximize more people's ability to attend.

Just popped in to say we found a house! It is seriously right behind us, we can see it from our backyard! We put in an offer yesterday and we're just waiting to hear whether or not it was accepted. We found out we were not the only people putting in an offer, so we were pretty aggressive with our offer. Hopefully we'll hear something soon!

Gotta run, baby sitting for a friend, so I have 4 kiddos here, one of which is a 4 month old. Today has been nuts!

Did I miss something? LOL What is PNW?

I'm down with Kansas. I'm from there, so I could kill two birds with one stone. See all of my family and all of my DDC. I'm 3 1/2 hours from Jaimee, and 6-7 hours from KC. Right in-between the two. LOL My town isn't fun, either, but it's a safe town, so I guess it's good I landed here with my kiddo, eh?

I've got a cold. Yay. Sudden drop in temp. + Turning off AC + Opening windows did it for me, I guess.

My big dog got skunked the other night. WORST TIME OF MY LIFE. Seriously. I didn't realize that was what he was chasing after until he ran past me to go inside. He was inside for two minutes AT THE MOST and I can still smell it everywhere. I even boiled apple cider vinegar like someone suggested I do and it did nothing... Just made my house smell like vinegar and skunk. I got the smell out of my dog though, I think. Or I'm used to it.

I just finished my finals today. THREE months until graduation!!! =) =) =) Then I can really get on the baby makin' train again, LOL.

Good luck Mal!!

Um, my two oldest kids started school full time last week.  Having one kids during the day is a freaking piece of cake- my house is clean, my walls are scrubbed, and B is sick and only wants to sleep and cuddle.  What in the world am I supposed to do with all this spare time?  Spend way too much time on MDC, Facebook, and Pinterest, thats what.

Pacific North West... like Washington and Oregon.  It seems like over half the active DDC is from that area or has family there.

I need like...10 more hobbies.  Haha.  I started knitting a very cute jacket for B.  My ODD's birthday is tomorrow and, no joke, I hand crafted 20 goodie bags for her class because I just have THAT MUCH spare time. 

I need to take an online college course or something.

I get that with just having Michael at school! It's a MUCH easier day! And then, at 2:30, I have to gear up for hell to break loose at 3:00PM when he gets home.

What, nobody wants to come to the Big Apple?!?  We're skipping the annual trip to Bellingham and PDX for the holidays, but we're going house hunting  in the PNW next year...so count me in if it takes awhile to pull the reunion together!  (Also house hunting in VT and ME this fall if anyone has suggestions for where we should move.)

There's something going around here. Aches, sniffles, headache, fatigue. Why does that make Shay scream every time he rolls over? Really, every 5-10 minutes he shrieks, rolls over and goes back to sleep. The kid sleeps within 6 feet of every member of our household and he is going to scream all night? Ok, the virus also makes everyone cranky. The end.

Ash, about school, I know!!! It is so easy with just Jasper home! I always joke that he doesn't count. But it is different when you have had a few kids and are then alone with the baby. When it's your first, it can be super tough.

Also, I think I am knitting the same sweater as you. I repinned it from you and started this weekend. So cute!!

Jasper did a bit better today. Still not great, but less crying. Poor baby. It's sucky. And then I have the guilt because I am enjoying the job. That's totally not why I am working, but I feel like I should be miserable if he is. Sigh. It will get better, I know...

Ooh are you knitting the Drops Buttercup pattern or the Petite Pearls? Im knitting the Petite Pearls first, then the Drops pattern.

Im sorry Jasper is having such a tough time he will adjust though. Happy mom means happy baby, and you know what is right for the both of you!
