Is anyone else doing some serious nesting?

I've been clearing out closets, reorganizing everything, taking care of tasks I've had on my lists for a year, scrubbing every surface down, etc, all the while having little fantasies about being home with baby and nursing while rocking in my chair, or going out for walks with baby in the wrap or stroller and just visiting parks and things in the area.

I've also been thinking about how thankful I am to be pregnant - especially now that I feel little kicks every now and then. I spent a lot of time in the TTC groups and every now and then I think about all the women out there who are still trying so hard to conceive and facing the disappointment every month.

We're the lucky ones, ladies!

we are lucky! I am so grateful and so excited to meet my firstborn.

I have been doing all the same as you, but we're gearing up to move Sept 30th.
I cant wait to have a space to officially nest in.

I have been nesting like crazy..  just got new wood floors in my main living area/halls/kitchen - so that was part of it..  and also cleaned my big kids rooms, moved my (almost) 2 yr old to her new room with my 6 yr old - purged 2 trash bags of toys to the donation pile .. i even got rid of a bunch of furniture in the living room..  soon we are adding some cabinets in the kitchen and i'm planning to clean out the entire kitchen and pantry..  yup, its not directly baby related but for me, this is nesting.  I save all the baby prep for 30+ weeks..  washing clothes, painting the dresser (painted it pink last time.. gotta go to blue now!)

I am really excited to be adding another baby, i can't wait for just about everything but i am also happy to be where i am now, just feeling some small movements and not feeling like complete crap anymore ..  being on #4 i know all too well how fast this goes,  Its going to be baby time before we know it!

I am! We are moving all the rooms around (again), so we have a bunch of stuff to do. I've been on my big IKEA trip, and got some furniture. I already had most of the diapers I need, but I got  some extra prefolds off of diaperswappers just in case. I ordered my beloved body butter for the rest of the pregnancy. We're painting our kitchen in the middle of moving everything around, so that will be crazy. It's going to be bright orange ;)

So much of everything we are doing requires DH's help, and he is busy with work for now. SO, I've made a lot of lists :) And bought a lot of stuff online. And been searching for a minivan. But I spent an hour today adding things to my pintrest board :) Getting excited!

What kind of body butter do you use?

I've been using Weleda Pregnancy Body oil. It's pretty pricey but it has really good reviews and it smells lovely.

I use Basin Body Butter. It started just because my mom bought some on sale for DD- it was "Baby Butter" that they no longer carry. I love how quickly it goes on, how creamy it is, and the fact that I dont have to reapply it. It takes me about 2 minutes to feel comfortable putting my clothes on. I like the unscented.

Im not generally a really body-maintenance person, so the reapplication and having to lay around and wait to not be oily annoys me. Im a put it on and go kinda girl. I used Wedela for a little while last time, and I just got tired of my shirts getting oil stained when inevitably oil pooled in my belly button and went on my shirt.

I'm also probably going to start using the medela stretch mark cream pretty soon, since it's paraben free now.

This is my second pregnancy and I really haven't had any nesting urges. I am 25 weeks though, so perhaps as I get closer I will.

But, one strange thing has been happening which must be related: I am obsessing over getting my 3-year-old's room finally set up, complete with a new bed (since his toddler bed can turn back into a crib for the new babe). This must be reverse nesting in a way, I want my first baby to have everything he needs while I get mentally ready to bring another member of our family into the world.

At one point I felt some sadness at what my 1st will emotionally have to go through when he won't be the only little guy around the house.

I know that in the end a new baby only needs his Mother and the support from a loving family. What does a 3-year-old, turning 4, need? That I cant guess!

I've mostly been too tired to nest, but I had a random burst-of-energy day earlier this week and got some stuff done! DH and I finally cleared out and organized our 3rd bedroom which is an office/craft space/guest room. We also found a nice couch and coffee table at a resale shop and bought them. This morning DH and I moved our old couch/futon up to the 3rd bedroom and LET ME TELL YOU, for being 6 months pregnant, I rocked it.

i'm going to join the 'too tired to nest' club.... but i don't think i've ever really nested with any of my pregnancies.  i haven't ever really changed my life a whole lot around pregnancy or birth. that said, my mother-in-law did just help us move (and we just moved homes in July)- so beyond some baby items being placed in strategic places, there's not a lot to do.

i have been fantasizing about doing a few little projects- baby sweater sack, making winter hats for my almost 3 year old and me, and have done a lot.  but the day to day chores of stay-at-home life w/ 4 small kids and one homeschooler have been enough to keep me pretty sadly uninterested in doing much else.  i am planning on buying a few items.  sometimes.  like yoga pants that fit and aren't 4 pregnancies old (they get sheer spots, then it's time to get new ones), and other such items....

I'm in the too-tired-to-nest, but having nesting fantasies club. Mentally, I'm nesting, but when I start doing anything I just get too darn tired after about 10 minutes. I really can't bend over anymore and squatting is not so comfy, either, with my belly sticking out the way it does. DH can do some stuff but I don't want to overwhelm him! Mentally, though, I'm there--cupboards/closets to clean out and make room for some baby stuff, crib to assemble (well, DH and FIL will do that, I think, but I think I may be directing/dictating as I have a little more spatial talent than either of them), packing up some things we really don't need right now for temporary storage until we move...oh gosh, I just made myself tired typing it out.

In December when I have a 2-week break from work, I'm hoping to start freezing some meals, so I'm also collecting recipes for those right now.

I'm nesting, in that I got all baby clothes, blankets, CDs, birth blankets/washcloths/etc washed and sorted. But hardcore cleaning I am way too tired to do. I am in my head though, lol!

I went crazy nesting from 16 weeks until earlier this week - now i've still got tons of lists of stuff to do in my head and suddenly i'm wearing out soo much faster..  ugh! hoping this passes and i get sa few more weeks of energy.. i have so much left to do!

This is a problem I'm having now too! I'm mentally nesting but I don't have the energy to carry through with my plans and get really overwhelmed when I try to clean like I used to and get frustrated.

LOL I do a ton of mental nesting. Like today I've already reorganized by boys' toys, framed some prints for the living room, baked cookies, done several loads of laundry. Tomorrow I plan to mentally go through the baby clothes and make pillows.

LOL! I love this!! Mentally my house is clean and sparkling and I clean for hours each day without getting tired or overwhelmed. And my children never follow behind and undo my work. ROTFLMAO.gif

My kids have also been very supportive of my mental nesting-- they even organized their toys themselves! lol.gif

Mine did their own laundry!

I guess you could call it organizational nesting. I'm obsessively tackling our paperwork for our next international relocation coming up and making a binder of all my research. I'm drawing up legal wills which we never did before but now it's suddenly one of those must do before baby arrives things. Also getting all of our xmas cards and shopping rolling and starting the design of the baby announcements... so as nesty as one can get without actually needing to clean anything. :)

I can't believe how clean-focused I've become in the last 2-3 weeks.  Things are turning around FAST here.  Things got pretty out of control during that lazy first trimester around here... I mean, cooking/dishes/laundry stayed caught up but with 7 people, things can spin out of control quickly.  But the great thing is that with 7 people cleaning furiously (inspired/prodded/threatened LOL by mom), things can get back under control fairly quickly as well.

All of our kids clothes are organized in the attic (by size/gender), I fixed our couch cushions that had been torn and hanging down (exposing the stuffing), I've cleaned off our kitchen counter completely (we have a lot of counter space and clutter had collected), I've given away tons of clothes... we had a garage sale... our pool area is cleaned out... our mantel and fireplace bricks (which had collected clutter/homeschool materials/books/movies/etc are cleared off)... I pulled out all the LR furniture and swept and mopped under all of it...

seriously, I haven't cleaned this much in AGES.

I feel the same way. I worked hard yesterday & today the house was literally trashed by 2 year old & me. I just didn't have the energy to tackle anything except meals & a large batch of hot chocolate mix for the weekend.

I do have a project list & our biggest project is a remodel of the main bathroom. We have most of the pieces, just trying to figure out the budget to start it & then get it D.O.N.E.  I also am overwhelmed by the amount of stuff we have surrounding us. Focusing on what we need and how to clear out before the gift giving begins in winter.
