New to these boards, where to start??

Hi there!

Im new to the Decluttering, Organsing and Simplyfing board, but not new to MDC!

Im pregnant with Number one and due around Christmas (but who knows lol) and looking to organise clean and declutter!

I notice there are lots of threads on here for support and ideas..... But have no idea where to start???

Any good advice??

Where to start? Hmmm.... I'd say start with what is bugging you the most. Many start in the kitchen or in a bathroom. Flylady has you start with your kitchen sink and build from there. I personally don't care for Flylady, but many others do.

Here's what I would do: Start by making sure you wash the dishes. Then move to the counters, and then the table and then the floor. Get the kitchen all nice and clean and keep it clean for a week. During that week, each day pick one area to work on. My spices were bugging me, so I recently got them all organized. Or just spend 15 minutes per day looking for things to throw in the trash or donate. The less you have the less time you have to spend dealing with clutter.

Actually, there is a blog called A Bowl full of Lemons where she will give you tasks to work on each week from now through December. You might want to use that as your guide. I "nested" with both of my pregnancies in my 3rd trimester big time. I LOVED that energy. I wished I could always be that focused and get that much done. So enjoy the nesting bug! And really-- it doesn't matter where you start. Just as long as you start somewhere.
