Alli, sorry about the cold. :\ I got hit about a month ago and tons of liquids, multiple daily doses of Emergen-C, and basically bedrest at the onset seemed to help. Can your husband take the lead on childcare this weekend to allow you to stay in bed? (I know that's the last thing you want, but rest is so essential..)
dmpkmom, interesting. Thank you for chiming in- it's really helpful to hear that. And OUCH! I'm sorry you've had to deal with this not once, but three times. I'll try the arm trick. At this point I'm feeling a little more like it's something along those lines. I did call my midwife again yesterday and I don't think she had really understood what I was describing when I called the night before. She was concerned as well but checking BP and urine led her to conclude that it isn't HELLP; she's also never seen anyone have it that otherwise feels perfectly fine, which I do. Good energy, normal appetite, no other complaints (*knocks on wood*), the only thing raining on my parade is this pain. So we're just keeping an eye on it and will move on it if it seems to get any worse.
39 weeks today. It is 66 degrees outside in DALLAS this morning. I am SO EXCITED. We're still going to be in the low 90s/high 80s in the afternoons, but it looks like we're finally getting into cool morning territory. Fall is my absolute favorite time of year, and actually feeling the cooler weather makes me excited about having a fall baby. It made me think- a fall equinox birthday would be kind of neat, right? The 22nd would be 41 weeks exactly, so it could happen.. :) It would be fine for her to come sooner (AHEM), but maybe give me a few days? I entered a giveaway for a show Second City is putting on here, and somehow won tickets? So excited, love Chicago comedy as a general rule, and need the tickets to get here ASAP so we can go out at least one last time before baby.
Like others here, my nesting has taken the form of interior decorating.. I've been dying to have lamps for the end tables in the living room for the longest, and finally went out and got them on Thursday. My husband either didn't notice or has just dealt with me long enough to let me do my thing. But it's also been killing me to not have art hung above the couch, and, uh.. that's being delivered today. Miró, one of my favorite artists, Libelle Mit Roten Flugeln Eine Schlange Jagend. Husband might hate it, and I would understand, it's a little weird. But not as much as I hate the big empty space on the wall, so.. ;) Here's to soothing the savage nesting beast. (Aaand the cleaners are coming on Monday. Ha.)
