I'll admit it-- I've already completed about 80% of my registry/shopping list in the form of an Amazon Wish List. But I've only just started making some actual purchases.
I'd probably wait under normal circumstances (I'm only 14.5 weeks), but I've been shopping these end-of-summer sales for other reasons and I "couldn't help" but pick up some cute baby clothes for $1-3 apiece (New! That's pretty good for brand-name 100% cotton onesies/rompers and sleepers, right?) I am not planning on finding out the sex before birth, so it's all going to be gender-neutral stuff anyway... Easy enough for me to clothes-shop early.
I also shopped Old Navy/Gap online for some baby stuff and a little maternity wear ($10-15 for maternity dresses and cardigans?!)-- you can still get an EXTRA 30% off your order (even on top of sale prices) with code: FALLCALLS
AND I scored a brand new Petunia Pickle Bottom large bag/backpack for $65. I thought that was a pretty good deal, considering the retail price (closer to $200)-- yes? It is brown with pink tulips-- not my first choice, but still attractive IMO, and not too "babyish." I showed it to DH to make sure he wouldn't mind schlepping it (ideally I'd get something more "gender neutral," since I know he'll be carrying it a lot), but he was like, "Have you met me?" He couldn't give a rat's butt. So I think I'll keep it.
It's this one:
Of course, my superstitious Jewish grandmother is insisting I not keep anything for baby in the house, so we've settled on an acceptable compromise-- I'm keeping them in my home office, since that's "the business," not "the house."
My BFF is also dragging me to a huge baby/kid consignment sale in a few weeks, so I hope to score some more great deals on my wish list stuff.
How about you? Anything new yet?
