Looking for a play date

Hello I just started homeschooling my 8 year old son beginning of last school year and we al so moved from Langley to mission around the same time.My son is making it very clear he misses his friends so I'm looking for him to make new ones.And we also don't know any adults here so it be nice to make some friends to lol.

Is there a local community centre with activities for kids where he can meet some new friends? When we were homeschooling the library and the YMCA were key places for us. My kids all took swimming lessons and made a lot of friends there. Is he interested in any group activities like Cubs or boy Scouts or sports teams?

Yes we r putting him in swimming lessons this fall.I haven't bee to the library yet but will be doing that soon to.
