I am actually still feeling really good which is surprising.  Next week I will hit 6 weeks and I figure MS will hit me.  (Geesh, That sounds negative, I am just trying to prepare myself.)

Lynann, I hate that phase where I can't cook too!  I feel so bad for DH.  I am trying to get some crockpot meals into the freezer-even if I have to plug the crockpot in out in the garage since I figure the smell will bother me.  Ha!  Lots of breakfast stuff in the freezer for the kids too.

Also, my ms is actually in the evening. I have been having a nighty puke session around 9 for the last few nights. Bleh!

Last pregnancy I felt worst at about 7pm which was when DH got home from work.  I would say hi and usually go puke within minutes.  I feel your pain!

I could eat the hell out of a ancho chile burrito from Qdoba right now.

There is a little place here that has amazing tacos and I almost called my FIL to bring my some the other night!  I made taco bowls instead but yeah, they still sounds amazing.  I could eat enchilada sauce by the spoonful right now too!

Quinalla,   Hooray for maternity pants!  so comfy!  I am still in that weird in between spot, wearing lots of dresses and maxi skirts.

I have been hungry a lot more lately too.  The other day I realized that between pregnancy and nursing I will probably be hungry for the next 3 years or so!

I still want that burrito...and a certain bbq brisket sandwich from another place nearby, and some taco bell. DH made salmon last night and used some of taco bell's one sauce that's similar to the stuff at qdoba (yup, we totally hoard the packets of that stuff when we go there) and some asparagus.  I know it was much healthier than the qdoba and it came close to satisfying my craving but not quite.

Yea...and I want chinese food too.  I've been hungry all day today.  Baby must be going through a growth spurt.

What's weird is that the baby must really take after her parents.  All week long I feel queasy at least until noon, usually with one day of all day ms.  Friday rolls around and I'm fine.  Baby must like the weekends too.

Yeah, they are loose, but they aren't falling down so I'm just going for it! Last time I bought some pants that were a size up, but I was only able to wear them for a month or so, not doing that this time as long as the maternity pants will stay up.

And yeah, you are going to be hungry for awhile smile.gif I remember traveling while pregnant last time (we do a lot of day trips for work) and making sure I had lots of snacks and a drink or two in my work bag because I had to eat all the time and I didn't want to make whoever was with me have to stop all the time for me. With coffee drinkers, I would encourage them to stop for coffee so I could get a drink and snack. I'm eating raspberries right now, mmm!

We're getting our DDs new room cleaned out this weekend the rest of the way and we'll be getting it set up over the next couple weeks with a toddler bed and what not so her current room (which is next to ours) can be the new baby room. Going to be fun getting that all set up and is making me more excited about everything!

In the name of comfort I decided to just make the move into maternity clothes. It feels so much more comfortable, even though they are still mostly a little loose on the belly. It is a relief to not have to deal with tight waistbands anymore. I ended up in maternity clothes about 8 weeks last time, so only about a week earlier this time.

We also stocked up with some protein bars, so I would have something to eat if needed when out and about. I couldn't even get through church yesterday without eating one. It seems like I'm hungry about every 2 hours and if I don't eat I get really, really nauseous, so I'm eating every 2 hours for now.

I'm hungry all the time, too, and my DD has been so crabby that now I am getting crabby. Bah! I keep tying to buy what I have been craving at the grocery store but by the next day or so it doesn't sound good to me anymore.

I have been a little concerned about my belly the last day or 2. I don't know if I have just lost some bloat or if I am maybe dehydrated or if my belly is shrinking or what. I feel like it is not as big as it was. I am still hungry and am having m/s and my boobs and have been growing A LOT the last few days so I am hoping everything is going well still. I am hoping I am just paranoid.

In positive news, my DD is damn near potty trained! Yesterday she only had a wet diaper when she first woke up in the morning and then was dry all the way until about an hour before bed. I am so hoping that she is all potty trained before this babe arrives. How awesome would that be?! She almost 20 months old.

One last question...

Has anyone noticed that there other children seem to be acting differently? I found out I was pregnant at 9 dpo so I have known I am pregnant for almost 5 weeks. And for about the last 5 weeks my DD has decided she will not play with or hangout with anyone other than me. She used to be such a grandma and daddy's girl but she won't even play with them or give her dad a hug or kiss unless I tell her she has to. She wouldn't even play with her dad lastnite because I had gone upstairs. I am wondering if she somehow feels something is different with me. I thought it was just a normal phase until I realized the timing for it.

I'm also hungry all the time! But I've also noticed I can't eat a "full" meal at mealtimes. I get full very fast, which is annoying when I know I'll be hungry in about another hour or so. smile.gif

Bailey, I haven't noticed my DD acting any differently, maybe yours is just very in tune with you!

Maybe this is why DD is suddenly waking up again 1-2 times at night and being extra clingy wth me, hmm. I thought it was just a phase, but maybe she can sense something. It did start the same time.

Good luck on the potty training Bailey!  Having them out of diapers is so great, and not having 2 in diapers will be a huge help!  I haven't noticed DS acting differently, although he's very attached to his "mommy moot" (aka nursing) right now.  If anything, he's all about DH lately and if I "interrupt" daddy-son time (as in come into the room they are playing in), I sometimes get "No mommy, no!" and a finger pointing for me to leave! lol.

I find I have little appetite right now in the morning, but am STARVED for lunch, but then rarely want supper.  I force myself to eat some breakfast and some supper, but really have no desire to eat at those times.  And, inconveniently, even when I do eat a decent supper (and/or snack in the evening as I do get snacky) I've been waking up in the middle of the night hungry some nights.

I did pull out all of my maternity clothes last week, and have washed about half of them.  I need a new pair of jeans, a couple pairs of leggings, and a few tops.  DS was born in July and so I really have more spring/summer clothes for the most part.  I'm pretty sure I'll have to invest in a winter jacket this time too as I think I'll have a desent belly come December/January and winter will drag on here well into April and by then I'll be huge!  Still managing to stay in my "normal" clothes, although I had to ditch my skinny jeans and go up into some old jeans that are a size up (and unfortunetely a bit out of style!)  If I could, I'd live in leggings and tights with dresses.  Just hoping to hold out on being obvious until after my 12 week ultrasound~3.5 weeks to go!

On a related note, does anyone have a link for a good tutorial for changing regular jeans into maternity jeans and maybe specific info on the type of material to buy to do so??  I have some bella bands.  Could I just use one of those?  Has anyone had good results doing this (as in jeans that stay up, are reasonably comfortable, and don't look ridiculous?)  In all honesty, I hate maternity pants but am thinking that I'm going to want jeans as an option with a winter pregnancy.  With DS I bought a few pairs of pants and rarely wore them, prefering comfy dresses and skirts.

I have been looking at this tutorial for converting maternity short/pants: HEREhttp://sewlikemymom.com/diy-maternity-clothes/

Honestly though, I haven't tried it because my hips spread so much in pregnancy that I don't know what size I would need.  I've been able to find maternity pants on clearance so I've been ok.

Could you take in the legs on your bigger pants to make them into skinnies?  I have done that before and it's really easy.

I was had July babies before also so I am hoping I can get away with lots of layers and the few sweaters that I have.  I keep seeing things on pinterest about making your regular clothes work through pregnancy.  Uh, yeah.  Not happening here.  I am not one of those tiny pregnant ladies.  I am hoping to gain less weight this time but we will just see what my body does.  I gained 37 pounds with both of my previous pregnancies so maybe that's just what my body does.

Thanks!  I will check this out.  Did you just pin your jeans into skinnies and sew up the inside seam?  I have a serger so I could serge the inside seam...(I'm new to sewing so any tips are appreciated!)

I did see a link to a tutorial on turning a regular t-shirt into a maternity shirt on Pinterest, and it looked ridiculously easy.  So maybe not shirts you already have, but it gives the option to buy inexpensive tshirts in a larger size and make them into maternity shirts with a bit of elastic and a wee bit of sewing time.  Maternity clothes are so expensive for such poor quality this is an attractive idea to me!

Yep.  You can turn them inside out, put them on, and pin them to where you'd like them to fit.  I don't have a serger so I'm no help on that end.  I'd love to get one but I just can't justify it right now.

Oh and I don't see why you couldn't use a belly band for the wait.  Just double it over or leave it long if you prefer a full panel.

Cool!  Thanks, I'm excited to try this!  I have several pairs of jeans that could use this treatment!  You are saving me serious coin!! joy.gif

ETA: Too funny!  I just had time to open the link and it's the same one that I was referring to about the shirts!  I didn't even notice the jeans tutorial!  Awesome!

Yes, this! And I have to eat super slowly too!

I went out to lunch with my co-workers today. They were all done eating and I hadn't even finished 1/3 of my meal. I felt so embarrassed, but I couldn't physically make myself eat any faster, so I just said I was done. Then of course I got nauseous from hunger 3 hours later.

Oh! I hadn't even thought of this as a pregnancy thing, but this is definitely happening! I keep getting super full right in the middle of a meal. Why does that happen, do you think? I'm only 6 wks and a bit, so I hardly think I'm tight on space in there!

Yes my DD, who doesn't know yet but may suspect, has been very clingy to me lately.  It's fairly normal for her to be clingy, but the twist is she usually wants to be apart some of the time and no it seems she doesn't want to be apart.  Mine is 6 yo though, and she may suspect.  It *could be* the baby and me pre-natals (which she read outloud and asked what it was) I accidentily left on the table, but maybe not.

I have been having some serious nausea.  Really strong.  Some days it starts after lunch and goes until 8 pm.  Today seems to be a better day, at least I got in 3 meals and only feel a little nausea.  I still have not gained an once yet, seem to be losing (which is good for me) but also was the start of the hyperemesis last time.  And I just found out, they don't give medications in Japan for morning sickness.  duh.gif  This is going to be a long several months if it goes like DD's pregnancy (23 weeks is when it stopped).

But I have been downing glass after glass of water!  38 oz last night at dinner before I stopped, and it feels like it is coming on again now!  yummy.gif  This makes sleeping (or going anywhere) very difficult, as I now have to plan my walks and outings around the bathroom facilities!  Already!  This is supposed to happen in 5 months!

The hormones of pregnancy cause our digestive system to slow down. This is why at this early stage we feel full quicker, but get hungry again not long after a meal. For me it also causes lots and lots of gas, which is why my belly is so big and hard, and the gas also makes me more nauseous.

I hate buying maternity clothes. They can be so damn expensive and yet so ugly. I've been in scrub pants and some baggy tshirts or skirts and tshirts.

Jacquelinej and anyone else with morning sickness. I just started the b6/Unisom morning sickness cure lastnite. It seems to work pretty good. When the unisom first kicks in and I feel everything in my body relax a little I have a slight feeling that I could throw up but then I feel good after that. I am taking 1/2 Unisom tablet 3x day and 100 mg b6 every other day. Your suppose to take 25 mg 2 or 3 times a day but I could only find pills that were 100 mg. Then for any heartburn I take Zantac 75 - Ranitadine. I feel like I am such a wuss with my ms this time but I just do.not.feel.like.dealing.with.it. For me it lasts until week 20, and with my first I had hyperemesis and I feel like I have suffered enough ms in my life. I justdontwannadoit this time, haha.

Bailey, how on earth do you stay awake taking that much Unisom?  I just tried it last night with a third tablet of unisom and a quarter B6 (100 mg), took it around 11 pm and I'm STILL in a fog and it's 11 am here!

Then again, maybe it's just the fatigue kicking in?  I meant to work out on Saturday but ended up taking a 3 hour nap on the couch instead...oops.

I think I might be the only woman on the planet that doesn't mind buying maternity clothes.  I have never had to buy an entire wardrobe though. I've gotten hand-me-downs and filled in with clearance pieces.

I am so glad that the unisom/B6 is helping you!  I tried it once in my first pregnancy and it made my heart race.

Blergh.  I have been wanting Mexican food so the girls and I went out since DH was at work last night.  It was a place DH has gone to and I thought I had been to another location and liked it.  It was not awful.  I ate it but I wish I hadn't.  The chips and salsa was good but it was all downhill from there.  The service was bad also.  I feel icky and I feel like I wasted money.

Ahhh...that would make sense. Still, it's annoying! I have this plate of yummy food in front of me, and I can barely eat half of it. So I have to stop eating, KNOWING that I'm only going to be hungry again in an hour. And by then that yummy food isn't quite so yummy anymore. smile.gif
