I really miss my uterus twinges/cramps- and just wondering where the tiredness and nausea have gone!

Awh, don't stress!  The cramps/twinges usually come and go.  The fatigue and nausea, well, those can lift occassionally too.  I had a glorious 4 or 5 hours of feeling great yesterday!  Made me realize how crappy I had been feeling.  lol  Also, I do think that we sort of become accustomed to feeling nauseous and tired, so tend not to notice it as much and maybe convince ourselves that we feel ok.  I suspect that both symptoms will be back and if not, then I guess you are probably just lucky!

So the super sore nipples (sorry TMI) subsided.  It least now they aren't on fire, just a slow smolder.  But the nausea is kicking in big time.  I was concerned that the diminishing soreness was a bad sign, but the increasing nausea is (ironically) reassuring.  At first I didn't recognize it as nausea but then DH cursed me (LOL) and I said "Oh, yeah, that's what this is."  I am still walking every morning which is great although this morning I didn't go as far or as fast because it seems like I slept poorly last night and I didn't feel well this morning.

I have not really noticed a change in my clothing although I am just 6 weeks tomorrow.  I am hoping to make it to 14 weeks before needing to get new clothes since clothes are super expensive in Japan but I may not be so fortunate.

The acupuncturist told me yesterday that if the nausea starts to let her know because she has an effective treatment.  It's a point apparently on the bottom of the right foot.  I am really interested in this technique.  I was so sick for DD I was hospitalized 3 times with dehydration.  I just could not stand the thought of food or drink at all and it lasted for 6 months.  Please tell me that is not in my future this time!  Ugh, but it sure feels that way today.  I get hungry, then I eat protein and then I get sick then I regret eating!  Tonight might have to be miso soup....

Hello everybody. :)

I am approximately 7w1d with baby #3, and my last two pregnancies included violent "morning" sickness, but this one seems to be all about heartburn.  I want to let anyone else with this issue know about coconut water!  Every time I feel the acid a-bubblin', I drink a small cup of the stuff.  The taste makes it difficult for me to choke down, but it works magic on my indigestion.  Your mileage may vary, but I would be suffering without it personally.  It is apparently great for general hydration as well for those of you with m/s, aversions, etc.

Sticky vibes and well wishes to all.

Thanks for letting me know! I thought I was going to be heartburn free this time but it has been kicking in in the evenings...right when I need to lay down to sleep. I took zantac with my first pregnancy but I really don't want to take it this time. Does it help with that permanent nasty taste in your mouth? Sometimes I think I wouldn't so nauseous if I didn't have that. It's like a coated tongue, nasty taste sorta thing.

Good to know about the coconut water. I haven't had heartburn this time yet, but I won't forget!

Last pregnancy, going to the chiropractor reduced my heartburn by about 80-85%.

No symptoms again today and I noticed my nipples arent sore anymore. Will POAS tomorrow morning tell me anything? I am so afraid that the line will be lighter.
Praying that the no nausea or exhaustion are a blessing and not a bad sign. greensad.gif

Hi TJ.  Just a quick note of reassurance.  My symptoms have waxed and waned over the past few weeks which (coupled with the spotting) had me pretty worried some days.  But usually the loss of symptoms is something you notice after a m/c, not a prediction of one (which comforted me to hear).  Also, look at your own strategies (which may be helping): are you wearing a different bra (or no bra) because your nipples were sore?  For example, my m/s is much better today, probably because I have been drinking lemon fizzy water ALL.DAY. after realizing a few days ago that it really, really helped with my nausea.  Even if you haven't been doing anything different, symptoms change and shift based on the levels of shifting hormones, and some days you may feel great. :)  Just enjoy those days!  No worries.

Except for my tight pants from my belly changes, I'm feeling pretty normal today. I remember that happening several times in my last pregnancy where all my symptoms would be gone for awhile (except for belly changes) and then would come back later. I know it is hard not to worry, but try not to worry too much! Not sure on the POAS, sorry!

Thanks for the tip on coconut water, I'll have to try that when I have heartburn later as I'm sure I will!

Thanks CBM!  I thought today was going to be another crappy day and worked from home a bit this morning but my little troll baby got me and I felt better after about half an hour except for feeling silly for staying home.  This also lead to me telling my boss.  He's the first non-health-related person we've told and he was fantastic about it.  He's even willing to let me work from home for a bit when I return so that I don't have to use as much unpaid maternity leave.  I don't know why I was so nervous about telling him, I knew he'd be great about it.  It helped that he was just gushing about his newish granddaughter and his sons are right around my age.

Thankfully feeling better today.  I know there are lots of women who have it way worse than I have so far (haven't even thrown up <knock wood>) but it's still not pleasant.

TJ, your symptoms will fluctuate for sure, try not to worry!

What happens when you have a miscarriage is that your hcg levels taper off over a few days til they get back to 0. My last pregnancy was a miscarriage: I actually POAS the day after some crazy painful cramping, and it was positive, but then I lost the tissue the next day.

Hope that's not too much detail, but POAS wouldn't be a good predictor of something wrong because even after you lose the tissue, you still have some hcg in your body.

snozzberry, thanks for that reminder about when a miscarriage actually happens.  Today has been a rough day.  My back was just aching aching this afternoon/evening and I thought I was starting to cramp.  I think I am just exhausted because after laying down for a while, I am feeling better.  I am a little worried because of my history.  Trying not to let every twinge or tweak worry me or the lack of symptoms.

Is anybody having BH contrax yet? I have been getting them for almost a week. I mostly feel them when I get up at night to pee. Like a hardening behind my pubic bone. I'm guessing that is a good sign so far? I remember I had them really early with DD.

Thanks for the coconut water tip!  It's my absolute favorite.  My first pregnancy, I traveled to Mexico at 9 weeks and was drinking it fresh from the coconut with mint and lime in it several times a day.  A Mexican woman told me "it's too strong for pregnant Mommas" but I'm not sure I agree.  It felt good and so nice to hydrate with something besides water!

My suggestion if you don't like the taste, is first to try a different brand.  Some are absolutely disgusting and taste nothing at all like fresh coconut water.  My very favorite is Taste Nirvana - love that it comes in glass jars as well as the cans.  I don't think I've ever found one in a tetra pak that I like, although Harvest Bay brand is served at one of my local coffee shops and is better than any of the rest of the tetra pak ones in my opinion.  I will also buy C20 and Amy and Brian brands in a can when Taste Nirvana isn't available.

If you taste test and still aren't enjoying it, you might also try going to a local asian market (or other specialty grocery store like Whole Foods) and buying a fresh young coconut.  You need to cut the top of to pour out the water (or just stick a straw in to drink!) so a bit more work, but so yummy!

Also try what I mentioned above.  Add some lime juice and fresh mint to it and the flavor is totally changed...so refreshing!

Been awhile since I posted on here, but I'm definitely still having symptoms.  Very thirsty all the time, but have no desire whatsoever to drink water.  Just sit and stare at my water bottle instead smile.gif .

Also still really tired, especially in the afternoons from about 1-4.  Sometimes my 3 y.o. and I nap from 2-4 because I can't stay awake any longer, but then it's hard to fall asleep at 10:30 when I know i need to because he wakes me up bright and early around 5:30am!

Feeling round ligament twinges, but mostly when sneezing or straining in some other way.  Nipples are still really sensitive, but don't notice it much except with DS1 nurses.  Ouch!

I'm with everyone else on having a hard time with clothes this time around.  Broke out the belly band yesterday to wear a skirt a size too big that was falling down...but better than trying to squeeze into everything that is feeling too small.  Got lots of hand me down maternity clothes from a couple of friends and am going through, washing and organizing everything.  Hoping i don't need it for at least another couple of weeks, but want to have it all ready just in case!  I will admit to trying on a pair of maternity pants yesterday, but they were still a bit big around the waist and I would have spent the whole day tugging them back up, even with the belly band (especially since the one I have is a bit too big!)

I am glad to be out of the exhaustion phase. It went kinda quickly for me this time around. Now I'm just trying to balance what to put in my stomach at different times of the day. It's really hard to grocery shop when one thing is ok one day but not the next.

Hi. I'm here to whine... I am embracing the fatigue, and the sore breasts, and the smell/food aversions, and even the nausea, but I absolutely HATE throwing up. I fight it so hard, and it hurts and I hate it! mecry.gif I haven't always been this way, but I just don't remember how anymore.

I've got  a really gentle case of morning sickness, but what I wouldn't pay to make the puking stop.

(Don't get me wrong, I'm happy and excited about this pregnancy. I just needed to whine a bit.)

Don't feel the slightest bit bad about complaining here, that's what this thread is for, to get it out to other pregnant women who can show the sympathy you deserve! I'm so sorry you are throwing up, I would hate it too. I hope that part at least goes away for you soon!

I am only 4w 2d and I have kinda a light headed feeling all the timem and I def. get head rushes when I stand up too fast.  I get a little nausiated after eating, but for the most part I just don't want to eat.  My breats are a little sore but nothing too bad.  In fact, they have been more sore when I haven't been preggers.  The fatigue hasn't started yet, but I'm sure all of these will intensify in the next couple of weeks.

I am usually a ... enthusiastic eater. I have been having weird food aversions, where even if I'm hungry eating just does not sound good. I don't think I've ever felt like that in my LIFE, ha! Partner made a delicious pasta-veg salad last night and I was alternately gobbling it, then stopping for a few minutes and being totally grossed out by the thought of eating ... it was very strange! Bland things have been appealing - warm applesauce, pudding cups, crackers and almond butter.
