back aches already?! « Back to Group Discussions

My back has been aching on and off since Friday. I know that I'm way bigger than I was with #1, but I'm not huge yet. If this is starting already, it is going to be a looooooong pregnancy! Anyone else already feeling the aches and pains?

I am as well and have been for a few weeks. I actually had to move to another (firmer) bed last night & bust out the heating bad. I'm not sure that I'm chalking it all up to the pregnancy, though. First, I've been horrible about working out and have been doing a lot of sitting (aka: slothing), which I know isn't helpings. Also, DH & I had to move a lot of furniture this weekend I'm sure didn't help. I'm hoping to get some exercise and/or stretching/yoga back into my routine next week, which hopefully will make me start feeling a little better. Good luck to you!! If you're not doing any exercise or stretching I highly recommend it to help ease your back pain!

I have been having the back pains, too!  My midwife suggested a chiro, but for now I have been doing some stretching that has helped a great deal!

yes back pain and lower back aches have been on top of my list. I am a chef and the hours have been rough on my body.

My lower back and hips have aching for the last week, and I have been stretching and squatting instead of enjoying the sofa in the evenings. Apparently relaxin levels peak at around 14 weeks so that might explain creaky joints and pelvic pain......
I've just coerced DH into massaging my butt for the last 45 mins to ease my sciatica, mmmm. Must avoid soft seats/beds and lifting my 3-yr-old to prevent this worsening.

I've been having trouble with my hips but thankfully not too much with my back.  However, I've avoided picking up the toddler.  We're working hard on holding mom's hand instead.  ;)

Yes! My sacrum area has been killing me for like the last month, at least. I remember low back pain from the first time, but like previous posts, not this soon. Also, I think round ligament pain is starting. This morning I woke up an hour early because I just couldn't get comfortable on either side. My whole abdomen just felt sort of tight - but not like gas. Like, tight on a diagonal, not just swelled and puffed up from gas.

I just realized last night that my backache also includes some sciatica - joy :/  I haven't had it before, but now have a new amount of empathy for the patients that I've treated who have. I'm thinking about making an appointment with a chiro to see if I can get adjusted, but am a little nervous as I've never done it before. I hope the rest of you are beginning to feel better.

 Round ligament pain has definitely started. I have been achy/sore all day in my abdomen.

I'm right there with you WLL. poor DS, he is feeling extra clingy and I keep having to scoot him away from me in bed because I endlessly have to change position because of the back pain and the round ligament pain. I don't have a pregnancy pillow and I've been trying to use regular pillows and even stole ds' boppy.. whew :|

Yeah, I get them, too   Especially after I've been doing a lot of cleaning.  I'm surprised they are happening so early, I don't remember this with DD until I was at least 5 months along.
