Hi everyone,
My 2-year-old son has always been a 'noisy' sleeper, ever since he was a newborn. I remember waking every 15-20 minutes in the beginning, because he would 'call out', but was still asleep. (Now that was exhaustion!) These days he moans, over and over, very loudly, for a few minutes to an hour, once or more almost every night. Most of the time he is completely asleep and doesn't wake up. But I sure do! He has had periods of 'quiet' at night for a few days, but it always comes back to this. We've tried his own room, co-sleeping with his 4-year-old sister (which he does now and they both love), and co-sleeping with us, but nothing seems to make any difference. He doesn't seem to be in pain or have any illness (though when he is sick it definitely increases), so I'm not sure what, if anything is wrong. Maybe I can blame my own genes, since I (apparently) talk in my sleep a lot.
Anyway, it is becoming more bothersome right now because I am pregnant, sick, and exhausted, and really need my sleep, and am currently single parenting (my husband is away for work). We are also living in a very small space, so our two bedrooms are adjoining and his noises wake me very easily.
Any suggestions on anything I can do? Or what, if anything, might be bothering him? (I've tried all the obvious too hot, too cold, comfy pjs, etc. He has a cuddly toy with him that he loves and a water bottle nearby.) Has anyone else dealt with this?
Thanks for any advice you can give me!
