I am a Homebirth midwife in Costa Rica. Most of my clients are expatriots including a few who come from the US to have their baby here. I am a Certified Nurse Midwife trained at The Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing.

Hi Vicky!  I visited Costa Rica a couple years back and was wondering what the home birth climate was like.  How did you end up practicing there?  Seems like a beautiful place to live.

Hi Vicky,
Im considering going to Costa Rica to have our baby and am researching my birth options there. We have been leaning towards having the baby at one of the private hospitals but I would love to connect with you to find out more about your work. Im also looking for a doula if you know anyone. We would be arriving in Costa Rica in feb and our baby is due March 30. Please let me know how I can contact you to ask you more questions. Thank you!

Hi Lita! I would be happy to talk to you about my homebirth practice. You can go to my web page Albanuevacr.wordpress.com for more info and email me at missvickym@gmail.com. I know a great doula and she attends births in the hospital and assists me at home. I can also tell you the name of the only doctor who really does home births here.

Hi Vicky,
Thanks for your reply. I checked out your website and it looks great. We are not planning a home birth but I would love to find out about the doula you recommend as well as the doctor. We have heard about Dr. Paer and will be contacting him. Where are you located exactly, is in near Heredia?

Thanks again,
Lita
