Would you go by your dates or the doctor's dates?

I have pcos so my doctor did an early dating ultrasound at 7w1d and I measured 7w3d. I did not tell him I know the day I O'd (I chart) because I wanted him to do an ultrasound for peace of mind and I don't think he would have if I was sure of when I O'd. My question is, when telling people my due date and for info on pregnancy tickers and updates, would you go by the day you know you ovulated, or your ultrasound? The only reason I am considering going by my ultrasound instead is because I will have a scheduled C Section so i don't want to always be 2 days behind him. Thanks :)

I'm not sure that 2 days will make much of a difference but I always go by my own dates. I think being a few days off mostly will effect any early u/s or milestones like heartbeat, etc. Once you get closer to when you are going to have your section it won't really be a big deal.

Thank you. I think you are right, and so far I have been going by my dates because I am 100% of when I O. I have OCD and I think it just drives me crazy a little inside for him to say I am due at a certain time when i know it's really 2 days later, even though 2 days really don't matter. Thanks again.

I agree with BaileyB on both counts. I always use my own dates but then so do my HCPs so it's never been an issue.

And I agree that two days is not likely to be a big deal either way when it comes to planning your c/s or anything so, from that point of view it doesn't really matter. You could always tell your dr next time that you know your O date and that you'd prefer to use that for dating than the USS.

I always go with whatever date is later, even if the difference is big. That way if you go overdue you have less grief.
