Thanks Help007 on the explanation of Horse Lips!!
Everyone else, thank you for your help with PUPPPS. I am finding that making a baking soda paste and smoothing it all over my belly and letting it sit for a few minutes and then rinsing, helps temporarily, like if i do that before bed when i'm the itchiest, it helps me a lot. It burns at first but the pain is waaaay more bearable than the itching, and it doesn't last long. My DH also picked me up a naturopathic cortisone gel, which helps a little bit, and i have been drinking stinging nettle tea. I also have some dandelion pills and have read that many pregnant women have used it with success, but i need to read about it for my own peace of mind first, the side effects mainly and because it says on the bottle not to take if pregnant or breastfeeding.
One thing that helps after doing the baking soda paste before bed is whenever i feel an intense need to itch a spot, i run my fingers over the spot lightly, like a tickle, and most often the itch goes away as if it just wanted attention and got it. I did that one whole night but then in the morning found myself itching like crazy in my sleep.
I read someone say that PUPPPS is caused by too much bilirubin. Anyone know if there is any truth to that? Isn't that the stuff that causes jaundice in infants or am i mistaken?
My rash has spread like crazy now, so i might have to bathe in baking soda. Seems funny because that's what i use to clean the tub with.
