Just a thought about circumcision !

I followed an interesting discussion on tv the oher day about religious circumsition in Germany .

Among others , they interviewed a turkish guy , who was circumsized as a young boy , and who says he is still traumatized to this day about what he says , was the worst experience in his life !

But what stood out for me the most was one sentence

" in our modern society we cannot even slap a child in the face without facing prosecution , but yet every year little boys are being mutilated and nobody even loses one thought about it ! "

Just some food for thought !

Very true. The cultural conditioning about circumcision is so influential that people are so brainwashed into not seeing the harm that is done.

It sucks that it has become so "normal" People are rightly concerned about child abuse yet this one subject is not seen in the same way at all,. I cannot understand that .

But only in America. And that's the rub. The average American does not travel and cannot accept that men are whole in other parts of the world. So sad.

Isn't it remarkable that some parents will protest to their last breath that it is their right, their RIGHT, to cut the genitals of their son and no one had better stand in the way of them exercising those rights.

Interesting what happens though when it's not a boy. Then it's child abuse:

Child Abuse Squad detectives have investigated the allegations against the 44-year-old father and 42-year-old mother and charged them under Section 306(4) of the Criminal Code. It will be alleged the couple arranged for female genital circumcision to be performed on their one-year-old daughter and took her overseas for the procedure.
