Looking for a midwife (home-birth) in Clarksville, TN (pref. CNM, but will also do CPM)

I recently moved here from Maryland where I birthed both my boys in water, at the local birthing center.

This time around I am looking for a CNM (so Tricare will pay) to deliver my baby at my home, off base, in Clarksville, TN.

Can anyone recommend a good midwife?

I've been searching high and low and have found nothing!

I'm not due until April, 2013, but really need to find someone.

Sorry, but there are no CNMs who will do homebirths in our area.  :(

Your options are to 1) pay out-of-pocket for a CPM and have a homebirth or 2) choose a hospital with CNMs.  I highly recommend going to the Vanderbilt midwives.  They are awesome and worth the drive.  Many of my Clarksville clients switch to them from Gateway and Blanchfield.  Gateway is not natural-birth friendly and doesn't have CNMs; Blanchfield does, but the care is hit-or-miss.

Hi and thanks for your post! I have spoken with the midwives at vanderbilt and the only problem there, is that they will only let you labor in a tub, not deliver :( I am determined to have a home birth and am still searching. I have spoken with several CNM's and CPM's and am just trying to find a CPM that is affordable that can help me!

Oh, also there is the Infinity Birth Center in Cookeville. They do water births.
We have a contact list of Homebirth midwives who serve Clarksville posted on our Facebook group page (Clarksville birth community).
