Hello  every one

I'm 19 weeks looking for home birth midwife in MD  had my last one at special beginnings in 10/09

it was the best birth ever so far its just so far from my home 33 miles ugg.  HELP ANYONE at the point I'm planning UC or laboring at home until 8cm I don't want to go to holy cross who doesn't allow midwives birthing privileges.

Hi!  I have a friend in Silver Spring who is also planning a homebirth.  She is seeing midwives at Birthcare (http://www.birthcare.org/).  I don't have many more details, but hope that helps you.  Good luck!

You have many more options in the DC Metro area than many MD moms-to-be have!

http://www.mamasmidwives.com/Home.html do homebirths and hospital births in that area as well.

Birthcare and Mamas are both good options.  You may also be able to find someone who works under the radar if you contact some doulas in your area.

Good luck!  There aren't any options for a legal home birth in Baltimore. I had to leave the state to have my baby.

I second the recommendation for the Mamas Midwives. Birth Care and the Family Health and Birth Center in NE DC are also options. If you're open to nurse-midwives in a hospital setting, then Midwifery Care Associates at Shady Grove Hospital (Rockville) is also a possibility.

Good luck!
