The *New* Roster for the March 2013 DDC! More intros, duedates and updates!!! :D - Page 5

Hello! New to the group and to Mothering forums in general! I have lurked the site before but just made my account this evening!

  • EDD : Approx. March 13
  • Your Name: Heather
  • Age: Almost 27
  • State or Country: Illinois
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: It was sort of a surprise :-) We weren't "trying" but not "not trying" either. My first daughter was almost 2 when we found out!
  • What number child is this for you: #2
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Howie (partner, unmarried but committed), daughter Dahlia Pearl 2.5yo, and Lilly the cat!
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): We had one sono at 18 week and they said it was a girl! My instinct says girl as well :-)
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: Home birth (midwife assisted), hopefully in the water! We are very excited for this as Dahlia was a not-so-gentle induced hospital birth.
  • Blog, website or the like: Ain't nobody got time for dat ;-)
  • Anything else you'd like to share: I can't wait to breastfeed again! My daughter weaned at 26 months because of pregnancy related changes to my milk. I am happy we were able to make it to two years, that was our initial goal! We also cloth diaper and I am hoping to babywear more this time around. Dahlia never cared to be worn :-(

Hello! My name is Julie, due mid-March with 2nd child. We have a daughter who will be 2yrs 9mo when baby arrives and are expecting a BOY (happened on first try!) Planning 2nd home birth but... different home! Last time we had a very positive experience birthing at home in White Plains NY and now we're in beautiful Montreal QC (Canada). So, different midwife and doula but hey- different baby, so I have surrendered myself to a new experience. Hoping for a water birth this time, as last time labored 2 wks early, fast & furious...no time to get the pool out and fill it! So at the very least we hope the tub is ready & able to provide some pain relief!
Nursed my first for 28 months but suffered several months of pain, blocked ducts and vasospams. Hoping for a miracle of an easier, more enjoyable BF relationship this time.
Best to all March mamas! It is my birth month (3/10) & my mothers too (3/7) & her mother too (3/31/1909!!)

Hello! I'm expecting our 2nd child and our daughter Dahlia Anjali is just over 2.5 yrs (born 6/25/10)
I also love the name Pearl, pretty combo. I also BF just past 2yrs & cloth diapered. This time I'm hoping to EC, even if just P/T. Love this site that brings natural minded parents together bc it can be hard to find the" right" supportive friends in person.
You're almost 27 but...I'm almost 37! Personally, I couldn't have imagined having kids in my 20's but am curious what it would have been like to meet my hubby earlier (I was 30!) Youth has its advantages wink1.gif More energy? That's what I've heard...
But everyone path is so unique...it all happens when it happens.
Good luck!

Hi all,

I was here many, many moons ago when I first found out I was pregnant (in July). However, I was also super paranoid of an early loss and was devastated every time someone on here experienced one. I had to cut myself off from checking this forum for a while and just started popping in here again. :)

  • EDD (feel free to use 1st or 2nd half if you prefer): March 9th
  • Age: 35
  • State or Country: Washington
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: 4 months
  • What number child is this for you: First!
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): My husband and I have been married for 10 years and have two cats and a lizard
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): I've had 2 girl dreams but I kept referring to it as a "he" during my 2nd trimester. It's a surprise, so we'll see!
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: at home with our midwife and doula

Thanks for welcoming me back in! It's very exciting that a couple of the ladies here have already had their babies. It makes it that much more real.

I joined a few weeks ago, but never did this information, so see below!

  • EDD (feel free to use 1st or 2nd half if you prefer): March 7th
  • Age: 29
  • State or Country: Tennessee
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: surprise! Baby was apparently conceived on DS's 2nd birthday.... we must have been sad about him getting so big!
  • What number child is this for you: 2nd
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): DH and I have been married for almost 6 years, together for nearly 14.  We have DS who will be 3 in June
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): A girl! DH was supposed to keep it a secret from me, but he was far too excited for that!
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: saw midwife throughout the pregnancy, but birthing at the hospital with a friend who will serve as doula and DH (of course)

So excited for a March baby!

Welcome BigWater - that's really neat that such a long line of women in your family are born in March!  I, too, am a March baby, as is my dad and his mother - NOT the same thing, but I'm happy to be due in March.  Actually, my "due date" is the same as my mother's due date when she was pregnant with me (I arrived via c-section 4 days early, Friday the 13th) but all along this pregnany I've thought how neat it was that we shared the same due date.

  • EDD: March 31st
  • Your Name: Miranda
  • Age: 21
  • State or Country: Jiangmen China!
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: about 6 months
  • What number child is this for you: this is number 1!
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): It's just me and my husband who is 25
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): For a long while I was sure it was a girl, but now I have no idea. All the Chinese women say its a boy, so we'll see! (we don't know the gender for sure)
  • Anything else you'd like to share: I'm 34 weeks along and doing really good. We are planning an unassisted homebirth and my husband and I are both very excited! I'm a little shy so may not post a whole lot, but am very grateful to read everyone elses posts!

That is cool! I'm a March (10th) baby as well, and I really hope my little girl comes in March... its only 6 more days, hold on baby! Hold on!

i signed up on the other roster but didn't realize there was a new one. Here we go...

Name. Grace
# child. 2nd. DD will be 2 y 9 mo when this one is born.

Birth. Come from a simple lineage of countrified homebirthing women. Was glad to carry on the tradition and had a great experience with my homebirth with DD. Have an awesome midwife who has been friends with my parents for 30+ years and was trained by the midwife who caught me, but lately I am really feeling the unassisted birth urge. We will see. wink1.gif

Fears. I wasn't involved with the forums until lately because at the same time that I conceived, I had gotten 200+ chiggers bites and a nasty case of West Nile. I also think I had a really early miscarriage in the end of May that scared me. So I was sick as a dog, itchy and exhausted like never before in my life. For two months! I couldn't move, couldn't even read or knit I was so dizzy. And couldn't eat. I lost weight and was really afraid internally that this baby wouldn't survive. Wow.

It is so strong! I was feeling back to normal by month 5.5 of pregnancy and was able to recover emotionally by the beginning of the third trimester. So this pregnancy has just begun for me. smile.gif and I am 36+5 weeks. Lol. I feel sooo amazing, the baby feels insanely happy, playful and active.

Gender guess. Boy? Don't know. smile.gif

I am so excited. Energy is tip top and I feel so great and thankful. I have all the usual pregnancy discomforts, but having such a trial for months on end last year, have made me bond and grow thankful for small things like being able to walk, knit, read, play with DD, feel life inside of me. Etc.

That's my current story.

Oh yeah. We moved into a house in November which had to be completely gutted and renovated. Its nowhere near done, but I now, as of two weeks ago, have a comfy yurt style bedroom, heat, running water, and soon, a huge pot to boil water in for baths. Life is good!

Hi Grace!  Just wanted to say that you and I share the same EDD!  And I too, had a very early miscarriage a few months before conceiving this little one!  My LO is also very active and happy!  This is my fifth baby.....but my partner's first, so we're super-excited!  My older kids are a lot older.......20, 17, (almost) 15 and 12, so things are feeling new all over again.  But I feel great as well.  Hoping that I'll be maybe a week or two early, but not counting on it, considering that three out of four of my olders were past 40 weeks....the youngest (son) was 41 + 4.  UGH!  :P

Anyway, we're planning on a homebirth, and are cleared as of FRIDAY!  :D

Nice to meet you!

~Jen
