haven't been on much, cautiously optimistic

After lots of deliberation with myself and just feeling like something might be wrong with this pregnancy, I elected to have an early U/S.  It was at 12 weeks 3 days, and the tech found a Cystic Hygroma on the baby's neck.  We did the CVS and the initial keryotype has come back clear.  The in-house lab has just started doing microarrays and offered us those results for FREE (usually $2500).  We didn't think we would pay for that, but we welcome any information we can get.

This pregnancy is not turning out like I thought and we're facing weeks of waiting and more ultrasounds to look for potential problems.  Having a hygroma is very highly correlated with many different kinds of defects in babies.

So..... feeling tenuous and also hopeful.  I may not be around much here, but have found other support online and IRL with other families experiencing similar things.  I really haven't seen anything like this on MDC, which is too bad.

Love and blessings on all of our pregnancies!

At our follow up US today, our baby had no heartbeat. We are horribly sad but it wasn't a shock exactly either. The waiting is over and we are thankful that if we were going to lose this baby it happened now and not later. Love to you all, and happy healthy babies come march 2013!!
