Amazing birth story!! I love that you just *knew* not to get into the car and head for the birth center. Kind of can't believe your MW though, she sounds kind of disorganized! Also love that you said forget paleo and had a big Mac! wink1.gif I did the exact same with a hot dog from a stand outside the hardware store. It was delicious and an hour later I realized I was in labor!

Benji is SO darling! Congrats Mama!

Yay! Congrats Mama!! It sounds like your midwife needs backup...

That sounds really similar to my 2.5 hr labor (on the same day!). But I would have been so mad at my MW if she wasn't there. You did amazing! I totally can picture everything you were feeling in your story.

Thanks for all the congratz. As for my midwife needing to be more organized, and have back up - I'd have to agree :) Or perhaps she needs to retire, she has been doing it for 35 years. I think what's happened is she has intended to take on less clients and scaled things back and then she took on more than she could really handle.

But I personally am not angry about her not showing up. If she'd have been there in time, she would have been waiting around in the other room because I do not do well being coached or watched continuously.

Nukuspot, did you post your story already? We sure are having a lot of precipitous labors in our DDC!

Just finally got around to reading your story and it's intense! But truly, you're a rockstar and an amazingly calm birther! What a great story! Congrats again!!

Ha! I'm amazed at being perceived as a "calm birther" but I suppose I really was. There was a bit of turmoil going on inside my mind and it took quite a bit of mental will power. I had to ask my husband about it (after the birth) several times though because I was sure I seemed out of control but he concurs and said he just let me do my thing because I had everything under control and knew what I was doing winky.gif
