Anyone had any luck with homeopathic treatment for reflux? I think I may have had a breakthrough. My homeopath was treating me for the lovely travelers diarrhea I picked up on my ill fated sailing trip/mutiny in Indonesia a few weeks ago. She just had me doing a round of Sulpher for 7 days but she was also suggesting this was going to help the reflux I had too. I was a little skeptical as the days wore on and then a few days after I finished the packets the reflux was better. A lot better. Hard to say if that was it, "the cure," since all my symptoms have gone in cycles with peaks and dips that don't have much to do with my efforts to control them. But hey, it's a relatively easy and painless treatment and if it does work for someone else I'm happy to have shared it. ;)

Sounds like your body is starting to make colostrum. I think what makes it look like a pimple is that it comes out a little, then dries up. I've noticed the same thing in the last few days as well.

I have to say I'm looking forward to breastfeeding again. One of the things my 6yo said to me when we told her about the baby was, "Oh mom! You'll get to use your boobs again!"

Is this something that has happened to anyone else? My breasts are swollen, hot, and red pretty much constantly these days so I regularly check them out and this is the first time I've found any such thing.

You guys! Have you tried Tums Freshers? They're like a cross between Tums and Altoids and are literally my favorite thing right now, lol.

Last night I went outside my usual restricted diet because I was craving a walnut burger and fries from a local dive bar. When I get it I noticed there are a ton of onions in it (first no no) and that they buttered the bun (even worse no no) but I was so hungry I ate it anyway. I have never been in such stomach pain. I had to do labor breathing. NEVER AGAIN.

Curious about sulphur. It's a homeopathic I have lying around because it was suggested by my NP for MS but I don't think it worked. I'll pop some today and see what happens as I'm still having some pain from last night.

i have one little gland that has been doing that since my first pregnancy 7 years ago (top of left areola as well).  when new baby is on hand, baby drains it pretty well, but during pregnancy i check it pretty often and it's never been infected or complicated, but i just squeeze the little thing empty.  i think it's just a gland that backs up a bit with all the hormones for lactation.  my first pregnancy, i lactated- i had colostrum throughout.  by the end i would take showers and drain off excess milk.  Thankfully, it was only the first pregnancy- the others it wasn't so bad (granted, i did nurse through 2 of the last 4).

so, if it's not painful or smelly, i'd guess it's just hormones and is fine.  my midwife also said it was just milk when i asked her.

I have a weird symptom this week...my left hand aches during the night across the bones, like what I imagine carpal tunnel must feel like. Only when sleeping. When I change sides to the left, it hurts less, but I can't sleep on just one side all night. It doesn't hurt during the day at all. Anyone else have something remotely like this???

I had this last pregnancy, and have it again. Also my left hand. Also only when sleeping. I also wake up with both hands totally asleep a few times a night.

I'm pretty sure carpal tunnel is a common(ish) symptom during pregnancy, related to extra swelling pushing on nerves and stuff.

I had to do the sulphur every morning for 7 days and didn't notice a difference until the end of that. Not a quick remedy but I'm grateful for it.

Reflux is the worst :(

I hadn't been paying too much attention to my legs because it's cold here and they've mostly been covered up. But today I took a shower and I almost did a double take at my spider veins! I really, really, really hope that they diminish after this babe as they did with my other kids... but something tells me I won't be so lucky this time.

Has anyone with heartburn/ reflux tried papaya enzymes?  They are still working at this point, although, i have had to switch to tums by around 28 weeks and I think it is prilosec by around 32 weeks.  Glad to not have to take anything too heavy at this point.

i just have reflux when i go to lay down for the night. drinking a lot of water tends to help, but then i have to pee about 5 times. i've never had reflux before and it's just kind of gross feeling all backed up in my throat.

OK I had something strange like this. A neve pain that shot from one of my toes and ended at the crotch! My husband had the presence of mind when my yelp woke him up, to turn me on my other side and it went away. Crazy!

I've entered into the awesome phase that is lack of bladder control. Mainly when I am sitting and feel like it's time to take a stroll to the bathroom, then I stand up and suddenly I have to pee immediately and I'm running down the hall hoping I don't step on a Lego in my mad dash to not pee in my pants. eyesroll.gif

It feels like the first trimester again where I want to sleep forever. 8 hours is now laughable - I need a good 10 to even function at normal capacity.

I've been incredibly tired too. It is so hard to get anything done. Running to the store wipes me out! :/ Also it is so hard to breathe lately! My poor lungs are so squished by my uterus.

ditto on the tiredness. i've been heading to bed at 8 or 9, and getting up between 6-7am.

omgoodness- the tiredness the last 4 days has been incredible.  I go to bed as early as I can (between 9-10:30) and sleep hard until 5am- change diapers and get a bottle, back to bed, then arrange kids around 7, and in bed til 8:30, but everyday by 2pm i'm ready to sleep again.

it feels like first trimester for sure!

i thought i was doing something wrong/different.... but this made me think I may just be pregnant (which my husband has accused me of all along)..

I was up last night with shooting leg/foot/toe cramps. I get toe cramps a couple of times a year-- wake up in pain, have to massage it out, etc. But this was unreal! DH ran to the bathroom to get the Tiger Balm and slathered it on me and the cramps went away. But now I feel like if I move my shin or my foot wrong they will come shooting back.

Loveandgarbage-

Have you tried high dose magnesium?  I got horrible leg cramps last time so I decided to be proactive this time.  I've been taking 800-1000mg of magnesium glycinate everyday and have'd had a single cramp (knock on wood). Hope it doesn't happen again! Those leg cramps are soo painful!
