Nursing thread, anyone? - Page 2 « Back to Group Discussions

Maman- I am going through the same thing. She ALWAYS wants to be at the breast. I am seriousy going nuts trying to take care of my newly jealous 1 year old, a newborn that ALWAYS has to be at the breast or else she has a meltdown, trying to complete schoolwork and getting work done on about 1-2 hours of sleep a night. I have no idea what to do. I ordered a k'tan carrier as she likes to be carriered but I dont know how long I can do this. She'll cry and root and freak out until she is at my breast and maybe take a couple sips. I have no time to eat, drink or sleep. My son was never this way, but we didnt have him home until he was 19 days old.

Breakthrough! Went to peds office yesterday and she said she has bad gas. She said it might take a few weeks for her to adjust to my diet but that their shouldnt be a problem. Gave her some mylecon (sp?) drops last night and within an hour she pooped and went back on about every 2 hour schedule, and even slept for 4 hour stretch last night! She is much more calm and able to sleep in her lounger pillow next to me without me holding her all the time! Yay!

On a side note- all that nursing has done her well. She was 8'15" when born on 9/11, 8'6" at peds appt on 9/13, and 9'15" at appt last night 9/20!
