Encapsilating, planting, stir fry??? what are your plans ... or what did you do with yours?? I am dehydrating with lemon and ginger and encapsilating. Hope it will help with mood swings, anemia, and milk supply! please share

My friends will be encapsulating for me.  :)

Encapsulated. I think it helps a lot.

I'm having mine encapsulated.  I think I'll do a week of smoothies too, but I'm still undecided.  The doula who will be doing the encapsulation would prep 7 numbered "ice cube size" pieces getting gradually smaller to go in smoothies each day for the first week.  As I drink berry smoothies every morning, I'm guessing I could really do that without too much of a squeamish factor.

I'm going to have mine encapsulated. My doula works with a woman who does it, so she will handle retrieving it at the hospital and then will have it done and ready for me at her post partum visit. I'm really hoping it helps with my hormones after delivery, I'm willing to try at least.

berry smoothies... good idea, similar color right? lol pinktongue.gif  With my first pregnancy I did not consume my placenta... I didn't have an idea why or how you would do it. I had alot of problems with milk supply and mood swinngs. this time its that and anemia. So... crossing my fingers

Yep, the doula says she usually does mixed berries which totally hides the color and also hides the flavor.  She says she did it with her last baby and couldn't taste it at all.  I'm thinking small frozen pieces won't seem too gross to handle for DH or me either.  It'll just mean we have to make my smoothie separate (usually we do a big batch for the whole family each morning).

I'm having mine encapsulated again.  Last time I also had a "mother tincture" made from the chorion, which I might not do this time (the woman increased her pricing).  Aside from it possibly NOT staying potent till menopause, I'm not sure I've used the tincture all that much.

I have never managed a smoothie, but I am feeling quite drawn to it this time.  We'll see if I can do it.

I just got my capsules last night. It was a small placenta and had some calcification, so I didn't get a ton of them. I'm trying to decide how many to take.

I had mine encapsulated.  Hard to tell how it is affecting my mood, but I am 5 days postpartum and my bleeding has REALLY slowed down.  With DD I bled for 5 weeks!  I am taking 2 capsules three times a day.

My DH encapsulated my placenta. Isn't that nice? It was a lot of work, and I am thankful for his efforts.

The placenta was small so I didn't get many. I have trouble remembering to take them and have taken some, but my bleeding is very minimal @ 8 days. I don't know whether it is due to the capsules for sure. I had little bleeding at the birth and had kept the baby attached to the placenta until it came out. We wonder if this reduced a lot of possible complications (and postpartum bleeding), as I had read that doing so reduces the chance of hemmoraging anyway.

I usually don't have much for other problems after birth, and always have tons of milk, so it is hard for me to say whether it is helping other things.

I just started taking mine last night. It is hard to tell whether or not they are helping... I guess it's just a gut feeling thats its the best choice for me! My bleeding has been really minimal this time around before even taking the placenta. Im 7 days postpartum and have a few tiny blood clots when I pee.. that's about it. It will deffinatly help the amenia though. My milk supply is really low :( so... hopefully this will do the trick
