previous incision scars?

I have never had a c/s, but I had to have the full 5" incision (ABOVE my bikini line) for my ruptured ectopic in March. It's already kind of bothering me...getting itchy, though I have some calendula cream that usually helps, but I've been using primarily vitamin E and/or coconut oil now that I'm pregnant (avoided THAT while the scar was healing). I also take my CLO, E and coconut oil so I get them internally, but the idea of that stretching still kind of freaks me out. It's a pretty thick scar, too. What are your experiences with previous incision scars during pregnancy? This is one thing I am clueless on.

My c-section scar itched throughout my last pregnancy, but beyond that it wasn't an issue. I just rubbed vitamin E on it to help with the itching. I don't think you need to worry about anything (like it splitting open). Plus, mine actually seemed to look better after the pregnancy for some reason. It was really thick and an angry red color, but after the pregnancy it seemed to be smoother and blend in with my skin more.

Thanks!  I'm definitely not worried about splitting or anything, but I was concerned that it might be painful at times.  Mine is a little higher than most of my c/s friends so I wondered if that might put it in a place where it will stretch more (as opposed to a lower, hairline incision).  We'll see I guess!  That would be awesome if it looks nicer though!

Wow, I have this exactly- my ruptured ectopic (and laparotomy) was in July of 2010, and then DS was conceived in September of that year. I was concerned about the scar during that pregnancy- it was a thick, ugly scar, and as my belly grew it itched and it was clear that there were adhesions. I used oils and creams for massage, not sure if it helped. Going through the pregnancy seemed to loosen up the scar tissue some. I never had any real problems with it, besides a little discomfort and my intense squeamishness about it, and it was less ugly and noticeable post partum.

Hope that helps.
