No energy left to labor.

Well I lost my mucus plug yesterday and then today woke up around 3am with bloody show. Pretty excited but nothing happened so I kind of went about my business until the contractions started. They are so inconsistent it is insane. I will have one 15 minutes apart and then 3 back to back and then they space to 4 minutes. greensad.gif I am exhausted already with this going on all day. When the contractions went from uncomfortable to actually painful I started to get brown discharge so I feel I am in labor but I fear I won't have enough energy to labor at this point if this keeps up all night.

Does this sound like labor to anyone? Am I just going to suffer this way until induction on saturday? Anyone with experience in this type of situation?

Have you discussed this with your care providers? I'd be concerned about a brown discharge.

I had totally irregular contractions for about 12-16 hours before my first was born. They only got regular near transition. Have you tried taking a bath? Are you eating regularly? What about napping?

I thought about calling but its after hours now. The problem is that my last labor was precipitous and it was very similar to this only the difference was my contractions where regular, just not painful. So by the time I had hard contractions that told me it was time to go it was because I was about 3 contractions from needing to push. I am so scared this is effacing my cervix and when it finally becomes regular I won't have time to make it to the hospital again. I should have called already.

I did not eat regularly today because of a busy schedule and I tried to nap just recently but of course the kids woke me up 10 minutes in. I'm going to try to relax. Maybe even call L&D and see what they say.

I would definitely call!! I would also call whomever is planned to watch your kids while you're in labor. If it is possible to rest, this is the time to be doing that.

Agreed re: calling about the discharge and rest, rest, rest between ctx.. otherwise this sounds a LOT like my labor- ctx from 2am Sunday, slowed down after about 8:30pm and ramped back up throughout the am Monday. Never got "regular"; got serious ~3-4pm Mon, birth @ 730pm. I was worried too about how far off the real thing was bc it is exhausting- you have my full sympathy. Keep us posted.

Finally on the real computer (not just my phone!)... I agree with help007 and hyde.  I'd definitely call your care provider or get checked out or something... and really try to rest as much as possible -- even if it means calling whoever is planning to watch your kids during labor... if this really is the real deal you WILL need plenty of rest and energy!!  It's called LABOR for a reason!  Wishing you all the best!

(I would definitely call L&D!) But I did want to say that I had a fair amount of brown discharge in early labor w/DD. Mucous mixed w/ old blood, maybe? When the first glob came out, it freaked me out, but the nurses acted like it was no big deal.

Hey ladies. Well I spent the evening relaxing, packing my hospital bag, and getting things in order. Contractions started to completely die off my 9pm and I was just really achy in my uterus from the activity. I completely expected to wake in the night with harder contractions but here I am this morning with nothing more than a back ache. I was so tired I slept through the entire night though which is a plus considering that is only the 3rd time I have slept through the night since getting pregnant. I plan on doing some stretching to try and relieve the back ache. That is from the baby moving down lastnight. She must being on a nerve. I felt her move down lastnight and I immediately began to lose feeling in my feet and legs and my sciatic nerve began killing me.

Will keep you guys updated as to any changes. I have a good feeling things will remain pretty quiet until Saturdays induction. Thanks for the support you guys.
