Showing?

I went to a parent meeting at my daughters school tonight. A mother I have only seen in passing and I were chatting. After a few sentences, she busted out with "And you're pregnant. How far along are you?" I answered "11 weeks" but was a little shocked that she noticed and felt it was obvious enough to be comfortable asking. I mentioned this to my husband when I got home and he said "Well, you are showing. It's not really normal for someone with your frame to have a round belly." So now I'm trying to figure out if I've been in denial about how big my belly is, or if I'm just super bloated or what? To be fair, I was wearing maternity pants (but you can't tell they're maternity) and a not-loose shirt. Anybody else feeling like they're starting to show?

I got asked tonight too, by my cousin!  The first thing I did was say, "DON'T TELL ANYBODY!" lol  We aren't planning to announce for some time still, but apparently my cover is beginning to blow...thanks to my belly.

Yep, I feel like I look about 5 months already, but that's because I'm pretty fluffy anyway so stuff is just getting pushed out and rearranged. No one's asked me yet, but everyone that sees me on a regular basis already knows. I don't think a stranger would ask yet but it wont be long.

Yes.  I'm big for me.  It is very obvious.  However, I look more obviously 20 weeks pregnant than 12 weeks. :)  I noticed Old Navy was having a sale and had some good deals on tops and some pretty skirts and dresses.  I hope the sale holds out 'til I get my babysitting check next Monday.  I'm looking frumpy(ier than normal) these days.

I'm only 9 weeks but I dont' think I'm showing yet. I'm still wearing my regular pants.  To be fair I still had some belly left over from my previous pregnancies too, but I had lost a bunch of weight before getting pregnant.  I feel my uterus stretching and getting bigger though. So maybe I'll pop a little bit more soon.

Although hopefully not as we aren't planning on telling anyone soon.  And I need to be able to hide this at work for as long as possible. I've only been working here for 4.5 mths and don't plan on coming back once the baby is born.

I'm 12w tomorrow and definitely showing for me, but certainly not big enough that anyone else has noticed.  It's interesting though; my pooch is looking more like my first pregnancy even though I started this pregnancy at the weight I started during my 2nd and was much skinnier during my 1st.  So logically I feel like my belly should look like my 2nd,  but not at all --  I feel like my body barely changed until well into the 2nd tri that time around, whereas this time and the first I got serious bloat very quickly.  I think it's probably just the way I'm eating (I ate marginally better during the 1st tri with my 2nd) but because my abs have already been stretched, it's even worse this time!  Scary.

Moms of many: did you notice that you carried bigger the whole way through with subsequent pregnancies, or did you just pop earlier?  I feel like with other of my friends it's the latter, but I'm scared that showing already means I am going to be SCARY HUGE this time around at the end too.

I didn't think I was noticeable to anyone else either!  Apparently I was wrong.  It's so odd...never in 11 pregnancies have I been asked.  (well, I guess 6 pregnancies were the only ones to get far enough for this)  I'm only 9.5 weeks!

My bloat is slowly disappearing, but I've still got enough of a tummy regardless that I don't feel comfortable wearing my regular clothes (then it's RIDICULOUSLY obvious that something is different)

I do think I've grown a little quicker each pregnancy.

NO, i have always been small through all my previous five pregnancies.  I never showed much until well in 2nd tri and then only a bit.  I've carried my babies the same way, too, very compactly.  Looks like #6 is breaking the camels back :)

Not yet that I know of. I'm still wearing regular pants and most of the time I'm fine but I'm wear baggy clothes anyway. I'm a fluffy size 20 anyway so I have a pooch, pregnant or not. It is slightly more firm but only I can tell that. We still haven't told most family or most friends so I'm glad I'm not showing yet.

It's been 10 years since I was pregnant and I'm about 50 pounds heavier so I'm curious to see what shape I take on. I just want to look pregnant when the time comes, not fat. :) I was pregnancy pictures, not fat pictures LOL

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a belly already! I think I have an irrational fear of having twins. Like, if my belly is this big already, it must be twins. I'd prefer one child at a time, though :-) I suppose time will tell!

Robina, I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow, too, according to LMP but I'm thinking I am around there. I'm switching from nausea and exhaustion to hunger and insomnia already. That makes me think I'm definitely nearing 2nd trimester.

I didn't know we were EDD buddies!  Yay!

I always get the beginnings of the switch around 11w...but then the nausea lingers for me so I have a while yet I think, sadly.  It makes sense because the placenta starts to produce the hormones starting at the end of the 1st tri but takes a while to fully take over.  I think WHEN it starts and how quickly it completely takes over varies from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy, but for me I start to feel marginal relief between 10 and 11 weeks all three times and then it kind of drags for several weeks afterwards.  I'm hoping maybe I'll get a break this time and I'll magically feel good sooner.

Also, I was scared of twins (I always am because I get so sick) but my fundus was measuring right and we only heard one heartbeat so YAY and PHEW.  :)

I am only 8 weeks 6 days and today I put on a pair of cargo capris that were sort of loose and a clingy tee shirt. My DH had mentioned that my belly was getting a bit "rounder" but I didn't think it was nearly THIS bad. I looked in the mirror and had a quick heart attack. I look at least 18 weeks pregnant today. Of course, some of this may still be bloat. But I was trying to wait until 12 weeks... or longer to tell the world.

I'm 8wks 5days and I had the same experience yesterday trying on a pair of jeans that, in my opinion, were supposed to give me a little more room. It wasn't until I put those pants on did I realize why my fiance looked at me strange when I told him that I didn't feel as if I looked pregnant yet.

Maybe it's a part of our imaginations how exaggerated it is, but signs of showing is definitely something I'm going through as well.

10w6d here and I have days where I'm very round and bloated and days where it's not so bad and I can probably pass for just being my pudgy self. I don't think this will last much longer though as I'm finding all of my pants are becoming more uncomfortable to wear.

I left the office yesterday and one of my co-workers bust into my friend's office saying "I know Adrienne is pregnant". My friend told me later and when I asked how she thought this girl knew she said, "Well, you are starting to show. Sorry." LOL. I've been wearing maternity pants because my normal ones are too diggy. I carry all my weight from the waist down and am fairly thin on top. I definitely have a belly (more likely, a pooch) already and I'm only 9 weeks or so. Oh well. Once everyone knows I won't have to worry about hiding it any more. :)

My friend said to me yesterday, "I don't know why you say you won't show. You're starting to show already." I was like, seriously? I'm not ready for everyone to know yet, but I guess I'll be telling people sooner than I thought. Oh well. :)

Interesting. I think the nausea left around 10.5 weeks. I'm so lucky, it was just gone one day and only came back for a short visit. I didn't have nausea hardly at all with my daughter, so this pregnancy has been different that way. The sleepiness and insomnia seem to be trading off, though.

I hope your nausea goes away soon! I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering about twins and that we're EDD buddies! I've tried but I can't exactly tell where my fundus is. I can feel my uterus, but not the fundus. I'm not a trained professional, though :-) I'm waiting on DH to give me the go-ahead to make an appt with home birth midwives. The only concern is that they're in-network for our insurance until January, then they'll be out of network. We need to figure out the budget and make sure we can afford out-of-network prices after January, but I think we'll be able to work it out. In fact, I'm determined that we will! The hospital midwives we met with were nice, but it would definitely still be a hospital birth, which neither of us wants! I guess I went a little off-topic, there. I'm blaming pregnancy brain!

It's funny how quickly clothes don't fit right, isn't it? We're going shopping this weekend for more maternity clothes. My jeans don't fit at all, I don't think I could even button them, and my shirts are too short already. Yay for comfy maternity clothes!

It's so awesome to hear from you again! I can't be the only mama who told her hubby about your triple sundae!

I'm rounding out a bit myself, but I *want* to round out! My breasts are super uncomfortable...I haven't nursed in almost 5.5 years, so I really didn't expect tis kind of tenderness and bloat in that area.
