I'm 39 weeks on Monday.  I guess I'm kinda expecting to go over, and hoping to go anytime now.  I need to stop cleaning the house, that would probably guarantee labor. ;)

Not cleaning the house doesn't seem to be working to induce labor here! 

As much as I have tried to keep in mind and say that just because my son was born at 39 weeks, there are absolutely no guarantees as to when this baby will come, I have sort of always expected her to be early, too... I will be 39 weeks on Wednesday (due 11/7) and there seems to be no indication that she will be here anytime soon. Other than a bad head cold this week, I feel great -- no pregnancy aches and pains, decent energy levels, etc. Oh, well. After Monday, my ILs will be in town and that will relieve a lot of stress about the logistics of my son's care while I am in the hospital, so maybe my body will sense that and things will start picking up then. In the meantime, I'm trying to get some rest and spend quality time with DS in his final days as an only child.

That must have been a big surprise....seriously if I went into labor tonight (I know I won't) I would be floored.

I haven't had really any discharge or anything to lead me to believe anything is "happening down there".  TONS of BH but it's been like that for at least a month so nothing new.  Getting very excited though to meet this baby.....

My midwife doesn't so internals which is fine, I don't really think it offers much info anyways but I keep thinking about just this once, having the baby before 40 weeks.

I don't really mind being pregnant but I find myself struggling to be the good, active mom to 3 boys (6, 4, 1) when I'm barely able to bend over and walk.

I'll be 39 tomorrow and just not feeling like baby's coming is any time very totally soon. Maybe I will go 10 days over like the MW said is "average" for a first timer....

I have a lot of BH too, some are just so hard too!

Mine doesn't do internals either, and I'm fine with that. I don't know how to explain it, but I "feel" like I'm dilating a little the past several weeks. And I've been spitting out a lot more mucus, but it's not bloody or any weird color. Just a lot more than usual.

I bet it is hard on you with kids that age - esp boys! They're usually pretty rough at the best of times! :)

I have this gut feeling this baby will come a bit 40 weeks. I'm kind of thinking somewhere between 38w4d and 39w2d...I don't know why, I've just felt like that for several months now. I am 38 weeks today so we'll see if anything happens this week! But, I know that my gut feeling could be totally off, and as a FTM I know it's very possible I may still be pregnant in 3-4 weeks. I'm not really a control freak kind of person or anything but it IS strange having absolutely no idea when she will decide to make her appearance, especially now that I'm getting closer.

Just to update - I did have my baby 3 days "early" at 39w4d.  That's a preemie for me, my last came at 41w5d!

To be honest, I think my water broke randomly and labor wouldn't have started had it not broke on Tuesday night during that storm...I'm still in shock about it....so hang in there, you never know what's in store!

I'm starting to worry, though I know it's not good.  My vbac is being threatened by the technicality of a few days, rather than the condition of me and the baby.  My due date is tomorrow, though they went by my lmp, so they have Friday.  They want to either induce or repeat c/s at 40 1/2 weeks, depending on my cervix.  That gives me one week!  I'm talking to the dr I like better on Weds (only a 2 dr practice) so I'm hoping to work out a compromise that both buys me some time, and makes us both comfortable.  In the meantime, I feel guilty greeting each new day with disappointment that nothing has happened.

Marmo, why so early for the induction or c-section? 

I'm not sure how long I would go...39 weeks and 4 days tomorrow and no signs of active (or even prodromal) labor.  So, with twins and a previous c-section it'll be tomorrow.

QM, I just checked in to start my induction tonight @ 39w4d with twins although they are doing an emergency c-section on the floor currently so I may not even start the cervidil til after midnight.  I can't believe we are still pregnant with twins at this far along.

I'm banking on going "late" mostly because this is my first baby and I know the average first time mom goes 8 days past her EDD. Plus both of my midwives are super busy the week of Thanksgiving (I'm due the Sunday after), so it'd probably be best if baby cooked a little longer! Honestly I have in my head that this will be a December baby...I'm feeling the 3rd or 4th...

Ya, my MW said 10 days and I've heard 9 also. She's telling me she expects Thanksgiving (baby's still not engaged and I've only had BHx). Thanksgiving will be 42 +1  for me.... Hubby's vacation will roll over to next year's on Dec 3 or 5th. I forget. I HOPE this kid comes before then so we have some time to visit my family in OK next year. Haven't been to see them in 2 yrs. This would have been the year we all got together, but I'm not traveling that far with a newborn. NO WAY.

I always thought I'd go early like everyone else in my family (and all my midwives/friends/family have been thinking allalong) but I'll be 39w Saturday and besides this prodromal crap, there is no sign of him getting OUT. Maybe he'll stay in forever.

edit: I'm also surprised at you twin mamas STILL being pregnant this long! That's amazing!

40 weeks and 3 days here!  I've been thinking this weekend will be it for me since my other natural (not induced) births were 40w3d and 40w5d.  I'm definitely tired of being pregnant, so that's a good sign, right? I vacuumed this morning, but haven't gotten desperate enought to wash the floors.  Probably that's what baby is waiting for...

I keep thinking: maybe this baby is waiting for us to clean the bathrooms? Maybe I need to mop once more? How about cleaning out this closet? Or finishing painting the bathroom?  Nothing works but I've gotten a lot more done than I thought I would!

I didn't originally think that I'd be going over 40 weeks, but now since I'm due tomorrow with no sign of labor, I'm pretty sure I'm going over.  sigh.  Lord help me if this kid doesn't make an appearance sometime this week :-/

Measured 44cm today,  but MW estimates at least a week to a week and a half to go yet...sigh!
