flying at 36 weeks pregnant?

My husband is currently deployed and will return on Nov. 4, 2012.  However, I live in Mississippi while I am finishing school and he will come into port where he is stationed in Virginia and I will be 36 weeks pregnant when he arrives.  I have had a completely normal pregnancy and my doctor says that I am fit for travel and will provide me with my prenatal chart and a letter stating my due date(Nov. 28) if I am still fit for travel in November.  This is my first pregnancy and I am not likely to go into labor early.  Should I risk the 1-1 1/2 hour flight to see my husband for the first time in 8 months?  I would be staying for three days and then flying back home again. I am not sure I can wait to see him until he gets baby leave.  I have checked with the airline and they allow you to fly up to 38 weeks. Does anyone have any experience with this?

i assume that was a typo and you ment they let you fly up to 38 weeks.

yes i would totally do this, just prep for it. 

• get an aisle seat, so you dont feel too crowded and can get up and stretch your legs.
• buy some properly fitting compression stockings, test them out for a full after noon before the flight to make sure they work for you.
• drink plenty of water before and during the flight, yeah you will have to pee, but cabin air is really drying and becoming dehydrated at that point in pregnancy can bring on pre labor contractions.
• bring as little with you as you can, but everything that you need the most to be comfy. i would prefer to check everything and bring just the smallest bag onboard, for a snack, something to read and any medications you need for the whole trip.

also you might want to meet other ladies due around when you are in the Due Date clubs here is Novembers and Decembers, not sure of your exact dates.
