Pants for a slim four-year-old?

Argh. Just got back from the park with DS1 and his size 4 pants (with the waist cinched as tight as they go) kept falling around his ankles. But his size three pants look like capris.
Where can I buy (reasonably priced) pants for a slim four-year-old?

You can order 4 slims from children's place, their pants are usually reasonably priced.

The climbers pants at Lands' End have worked for my boys, who are very slim.  They have a self-belt and come in regular, slim and husky sizes. The other option is to buy elastic waist pants and put a dart or two in the back. Most pants that I purchase have that done to them.

I've had good luck with gymboree's slim jeans, too.

DD1 is the same.

No adjustable waist ever goes small enough.

Now at almost 6 she can use a belt, but at four she had trouble with a belt and I was in the same boat.

These were the only pants other than leggings that fit her for a while.

My older son is slim and we just bought him some regular cut jeans in slim size from Old Navy.  I like that they have adjustable waist elastic as well.

They also carry skinny cut jeans in slim size but I don't know how helpful that would be.

I get pants that have adjustable waists. Old Navy has good ones.
