ok i'm just so excited about this new forum, when did this all happen, boy i gotta look around this place more!!

anyway, wondering how much water do you all drink, have you begun drinking more when you started to work out, do you love it/ hate it....
just curious i guess. i feel like a born again water junkie, its my favourite beverage. it is just so good, i love it, go through it like nuts during a workout but have to remember to drink more during the day!
i've heard if you feel thirst your body is already too dehydrated. also i've heard your urine is supposed to be clear colored. now, not to get too personal, but do any of YOU have actual clear urine?? is this something i should strive for?

my friends probably hate hangin out with me, the few times we've gone to a party or bar i'm the one giving everybody glasses of water all night! the BEST for avoiding a hangover, besides not drinking...LOL

my kids hate having to drink water, you'd think i was depriving them if i serve it with a meal.
so what are your thoughts?
TIA

Yup, I'm with you!

Water is pretty much my only beverage...well that and Red Wine when I'm not pg or ginger ale and lemonade that has sustained me during pg.

It's just soooo good for you. Cleans everything out and makes you less tired. It's great!

As far as urine goes...yeah sometimes it's clear. It's rare and if it is I usually have drank too much. I pay attention more if it is dark yellow cause that means I'm not drinking enough. Clear is good, but you don't need to strive for it everyday.

My dh did a long (5-day) bike ride one time and they encouraged a lot of water-drinking, with good reason. Anyway, we have a sticker from that ride that says: "I hydrate, I urinate, and I vote!"

I'm not working out nearly as much as I should; I'm walking every day, but I am also a WATER JUNKIE! I was not as a child/teen. Even as a young adult I drank soda--regular and then diet mostly, and juice and other drinks like Crystal Light. But for the past 2 years we've bought no drinks! DH loves water (room temperature only) and drinks it like a fiend. I now drink nothing else anywhere I go!

*going to pour myself some more now; icy cold for me!*

I voted 8 glasses a day and I usually drink a lot more than that. I drink at least 8 but I really try to drink 16 to 20 glasses a day. I've read that you're supposed to drink 1 quart per 50lbs of body weight.

It's really not hard for me, I've always loved water. Even when I was a kid it's all I drank. For a while I drank a lot of soda but my husband and I recently banned it from the house and we're doing good on the water drinking again. I do drink either coffee or tea every day so I make sure to drink water before and after to make up for the dehydrating effect.

I voted 3-4 because that's pretty typical these days even though I try to drink more. I used to drink 1.5 liters regularly until I saw that old thread on what kind of plastic was safe and reusing water bottles seemed to be a major no-no. That thread just got me out of the habit of constantly refilling my trusty old bottle and since then I haven't been nearly so good about drinking enough. I know, lame. But that's how it went. I couldn't keep track of which number plastic I'm supposed to avoid so I've been avoiding it all and only drinking out of a glass which has limited my intake significantly. Anyway, T alert!

I'm going to the kitchen for a fill up right now!

Where's the option for WAAAAY more than 8 glasses?

Yes, I pee clear.

I keep a 1 quart Nalgene bottle on my desk, and I fill it at least twice a day. I drain a large glass first thing in the morning, right when I get home, and 2-3 more before bed.

What's a "glass of water" anyways? 8 oz? 12 oz? If it's 8 oz, why is it always glasses of water, not cups?

I'm with Geo, I drink SO much water in a day...it's unbelievable!!! My pee is clear...and the odd day I don't drink enough, I feel it, I feel gross and sluggish!!!!

Off to drink more water.....:LOL
