Help quick! adding jarred garlic to lacto-ferment jalapenos? (garlic w/ citric acid)

I just cut a huge bowl full of jalapenos and got ready to add some store-bought chopped garlic - read the label "garlic, water, citric acid".  Can I use this garlic in my jalapeno pickles? Should I somehow rinse it first? Should I just be safe and run to the store for a head or two of galric?

I ended up dragging the kids to the store for garlic. I didn't want to risk it and I wanted the capsaicin overload to be over with!! smile.gif
