I apologize for the late weigh in. I didn't have internet access until now. We had to rip our house apart to get rid of pests and then staying in a hotel last night.

I am holding at 199.8. I am looking forward to this challenge! My plan is to stay under 1800 calories, aiming for 1600 net, and log what I eat on MFP. My favorite exercise options are Zumba, Pilates, elliptical, weights, videos, walks around the block (lots of hills), hiking in the woods, walking in the sand at the beach. I am going to go to the gym 4 days a week and do something outside once a week. It is so good for me to be in nature.

I loo forward to getting to know you all!

OK. I have initial weights for everyone EXCEPT the following:

  1. BarefootMama99
  2. briannas auntie
  3. Contented73
  4. gracynnsmommie
  5. marymom
  6. Smilesarefree

If you posted and I missed it, can you repost or send me a PM?  Thanks.

I will post the starting chart with team assignments as soon as I have weights for everyone. thumb.gif  Anybody object to a change in colors?  I'm thinking Orange and Purple this time around.

I'm so out of shape mecry.gifI went out for my first day of c25k workout this morning. The APP wasn't that great and I couldn't hear most of the cues so I ended up walking most of it. Then I came home and finally opened the Zumba dvd package. Gave up after 10 minutes.  I will try to do the rest later when my girls are back from school and we can do it together for motivation. But hey, I still got 40 minutes of good cardio workout all together and tomorrow is a new day.

orange and purple sound fun! =D

Just got back from the gym:

30 mins treadmill

45 mins assorted leg/ab machines (3 sets of 12 reps each)

- I think 8 machines? not sure

whew...one good thing about vacation is I am making the time to exercise.  Walked on the beach this morning with DH and DS, separately, so 2 walks there. Just now got back from about a 4 mile (or so) bike ride with both of them.  This is the most exercise I've had in 3 months.  photosmile2.gif

Just hope I can keep up some momentum when we get home.

I apologize for being late to weigh in. I am a mother to a beautiful 2 month old girl. I am just getting back to work from maternity leave so things have been a little hectic. My starting weight is a whooping 270 pounds with a height of 5'5". I plan to allow myself 2000 calories/day. My long term goal is to lose 100 pounds. I feel this challenge is a great way to get started. Even though I have a very long journey ahead of me, I know that can do it. I plan to walk on the treadmill on most days. I look forward to getting to know all of you. Good luck everyone.

You can do it!  :)  So long as you are doing anything, you are lapping all the people just sitting on the couch!  Each day gets a little better.

Walking on the beach sounds lovely!  No beaches near me to speak of... and it was dang cold and rainy here today.

We are in the middle of moving and my dh forgot to bring me my scale in today's load of stuff...he's bringing loads out to us (about 7hrs away) on his days off until he finishes up this job at the end of the month. He's not bringing another load until the 13th. We're in a super rural area and I don't really know anyone well enough that it wouldn't be crazy weird if I asked to use their scale. lol

That will be fine with me.

bilbi - Which app are you using?  I tried out RunDouble, and I liked it pretty well.  I had to turn the volume on my phone up all the way to hear it while moving, but it also has a GPS built-in so that you know how far you've gone.  I'm really out of shape too, so I feel your pain.  Last time I did C25K, I wanted to skip the first 3 or 4 weeks because it seemed so easy.  Now W1D1 was totally kicking my ass and I had to really slow down just so I could breathe.  My "jogging" looked more like running in place.  irked.gif  But, like Dmitrizmom said, at least you're out there trying.  It's 1000% better than sitting on the couch!

AFM - My Restore the Core workout got interrupted by DD after about 15 minutes yesterday, and both kiddos have been absolutely.non.stop. since.  Gah.  Does walking around all day with a baby who refuses to be put down count as exercise?  Seriously, I'm juse going to chalk today up as a loss, drink a calorie-filled mocha, and start over tomorrow!

Ooooh ok... I'm in for my second round! We are just going to use my last starting weight because I don't dare go NEAR a scale while auntie flo is visiting. I'm on vacation starting tomorrow, maybe with this thread to keep me accountable I wont go CRAZY.

Yesterday I bought cookies... yeah, cookies. What was I thinking? Sooo here it goes! (btw, after Oct. 16th I can help with the charting, I'm sorry for the late posting but I did mentioned I'd be glad to help with that, just let me know via PM?)

Weight as of 10/9: 219.4

Yea!!! So glad to see you joining us! joy.gif  I've got you in the chart.  And, ummmm, about the cookies... don't feel too bad... I made pumpkin rolls and pumpkin scones this afternoon... and ate more than one serving of each. bag.gif  Tomorrow is a new day... I also made a veggie soup (heavy on the kale) to eat when I'm feeling peckish for the next couple days... get the filling but not a ton of calories.

diana_of_the_dunes -  I'm using an app called c2k5 free by Zen labs. I'll give it another chance and If I still can't hear the cues than I'll download the one that you suggested. Thanks. Did you finish the program before? It's my third try but  I always quit around week 4 when the running gets really tough. I hope this time will be better.

Dmitrizmom -  your soup sounds great. I also made veggie soup to eat in time of crisis. Never tried it with kale. I like to add celery root to mine. It looks like a potato, tastes like a potato (well, kind of, I actually like its taste better) and yet have way less calories than a potatothumb.gif.

I'm Christine, AKA, nobodymove. I am a 37 year old mother to 6 wonderful kiddos and wife to a wonderful, loving husband.  My oldest child is almost 18 and youngest is 4. I home school 4 of the 6 and am trying to get a grip on a healthy lifestyle. I was diagnosed with  hyperthyroidism  about 6 1/2 years ago and have been being treated ever since. I also have a diastisis recti separation and am trying to repair this so as not to confuse people into thinking I'm always pregnant.  I am not nearly as active as some of you all on here but do what I can when I can, along with my mandatory 30 minutes 4 times a week.  Four of my children jog a 5k with me every Thursday night with the local runners in our area. I am currently 134 lbs. and would like to be in the 120's by the end of this challenge.  I know 134 doesn't sound like much to some of you but I'm ONLY 4'11 and a half. 2whistle.gif

Sorry guys. I came here to cry. greensad.gif I just went to my room, splinted my stomach really tight and did a few crunches(something I'm NOT supposed to do with diastisis recti) then did a few other stomach tightening exercises, got interrupted so I had to quit. When I got up (log roll style) and took my band off, my stomach muscles hurt like round ligament pain in my middle. So got on the floor again and tested myself for my separation ~which was down to only 2 finger widths,~ which I couldn't even find!!!! I almost cried. I am over four finger width separated now.

Back to the drawing board!!!

Yesterday, I did my first turbofire workout for 1 hour and whew! It wore me out. lol. It felt like I ran a marathon, my legs were on fire.

I actually just got back from my shoulders and arms workout (1 hour), and did another ab ripper (15 min.) from p90x.

Ouch! greensad.gif I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't had experience with diastisis recti but I know that if it's like round ligament pain, that hurts like crazy. Just take your time and don't rush.
