My 3 year old was stung by a bee 6 days ago. We think it was a bee-she had pain and I think it was a stinger that was stuck in it. She swelled a tiny bit at the sting and had pain. We were at the ocean and kept it in cold water. After a few hours it was almost gone. Now, she woke up with a rash around the sting. The sting spot is red and a bit swollen. Is this normal??

I'm bumping up your post for attention.
Anyone have experience to share? OP, do you have a health care provider that you can check with?

thanks happyhappymommy
So, in case this happens to anyone else-The rash was really itchy and red and a bit swollen for two days then I felt like it improved and then I could really see improvement. The only thing I did was give homeopathic Apis (may or may not have been the correct choice) and put ssssting stop on it. What I found out online was that it would be conserning if it did not get better but got worse. I also kept an eye out for other weirdness because you can have other reactions to bee stings, even way after the sting.

How is she now?
If the stinger was left in, it can continue to inject it's 'poison'. The other thing I'm wondering is -- is it possible it was a jellyfish sting?
