hello from a new unschooler

Hi all

A newbie unschooler here, and feel that I'm somewhere between unschooling and relaxed homeschooling, but since we don't use a curriculum and do child-led learning, and I identify with unschoolers more, so here I am!  Clearly still feeling my way around... :)

A quick intro!  My son, littleboy (age 6) and I live in central Jersey just south of Trenton.  We started homeschooling last year when montessori school started not working for my freebird/social butterfly.  I just couldn't bring myself to say to him "sweetie, you have to sit down and focus on your own project, you can't be talking to the other kids" -- ugh, just not the way he rolls!

We found a great group of unschoolers over in Asbury Park last year, but have since moved to the other side of the state, so it's tough to get over there as often as we used to (I miss them!).  We're working on establishing new connections over here, but it's tough sorting out who is who!

Anyway, looking forward to reading about your homeschooling lives and sharing our daily challenges :)
