i am trying to brainstorm up ideas for my dd's upcoming 4th birthday and thought of rollerblades. i think i learned how to skate when i was 4 but that was 21 years ago

is this a okay idea? i wanted something that is for outdoor play.

Well, my ds is 2.75 and we just bought him his first rollerblades!! Ok, so we are a little overenthusiastic, but both my dh and I play hockey and so my son really really wanted them.

I now think that 2.5 is a little early :LOL but four is PERFECT!!! What a great present!!

Most of the rollerblades these days for kids are also adjustable, so they will fit through 3 or 4 foot sizes. Don't forget to get knee, elbow, and wrist pads and a helmet, but her bike helmet will work too.

I started ice skating at 3, so I don't ever think its too early.

I gave my ds rollerblades when he was four. He wasn't a champion skater or anything but still had a lot of fun with them (still does).

We have the horrid little PlaySkool rollerblades that buckle over his boots. Is that what you mean?

Ds is 3 and LOVES them!

I wonder when he can start wearing real ones?
