We've always done our stovepipe ourselves, but the cap . . . well, it's time for a professional.  Does anyone know whether or not to tip the chimney sweep?

I never have. I don't tip the plumber, electrician, or furnce servicer, and this feels like a similar kind of service.

No, I dont tip people who are making $75 an hour :)

DH is a landscaper, and he doesnt get tipped, so I dont really see that service as any different. I would do it if they did something extra for me, or hung out for a long time and gave me free advice.

If you can afford it and it feels right to you, why not?
