we had our 20 week ultrasound this morning.
i was just so excited to see my beautiful baby and of course find out the gender.
the ultrasound tech was incredibly helpful and explained everything about all of the measurements, parts of the baby's body as she was going along, and when she got to the genitals, she let us know that it's a GIRL!
i am so excited. i actually cried through the entire ultrasound. it was so beautiful seeing my baby moving around. the tech did have me take some deep breaths and wiggle my legs around to try to get the baby to move. she's apparently a stubborn thing and wouldn't let the tech see her face or the 4 chambers of her heart. everything looks normal, and the doctor that i saw afterwards let me know that from what she saw everything looks perfect, no cleft pallet, etc. but she scheduled another scan in 4 weeks just to follow up and get heart measurements. the scan took over a half hour and she measured everything from femur to waist to brain, and we got to see the blood flow from the umbilical cord, and that our baby is swallowing properly. so amazing.
so we're having a GIRL! i'm beside myself and start tearing up just thinking about it. my mother was pretty convinced that it was a boy, and was shocked when i told her that we're having a girl. holy moly, i'm so happy!
my fiance was completely enthralled with the scan whenever i glanced over at him, and held my hand. he's going to be such a great papa.
